Oh man, I'm sad I had to cancel my Cotswolds trip when I visited London a few months ago. Of course, I wouldn't have my Taycan with me, but I hear it's beautiful out there.
Thanks for the info. I remember your original post from that other thread now.
Would you happen to know whether UVR or IRR or both cause sun tanning? I assume it's not UVR since if it's 100% as your device claimed, then that would mean you would not get tan at all , although I feel like I've...
Yes, I have this issue too, though it hasn't bothered me quite enough to take it in yet. iirc its reproducible if you have the HOLD function on while stopped by pressing the brake pedal in even farther. Does it happen for you in that case as well?
Does material/brand matter much when choosing tint? I see ceramic tint was mentioned but that sounds expensive. Does it really matter compared to whatever the standard material is?
Thanks for the pics. Can I see a pic from the outside which shows your side windows and windshield? I'm curious how stark the difference is when you leave it untouched.
@Genau yeah it's not really about heat rejection for me, mostly for privacy and somewhat for looks as well.
So this is the "same tint" applied to both front and back, but back looks a bit darker because of the factory tint? What % tint did you get applied? Looks like maybe 20%?
I'm considering tinting my windows, and I already have the factory noise-insulated option. I've never tinted a car before, so I know very little about it. Based on the research I've done, 35% seems like a good amount.
My questions are regarding how this plays together with the fact that I...
I haven't tried the air suspension but no, the steel suspension on my RWD is quite good. From reviews I've read/seen the consensus seems to be that Porsche has done a really good job on ride quality even on the steel suspension. I'm no expert, but compared to my Model S with air suspension, you...
I maintain that this is still the most annoying thing about EV routing, and in fact I've disabled it for now, at least until the UI for it gets improved.
I don't have any data to back this up, but I also suspect preconditioning in this case is not really going to make much of a difference, at least here in the US when using EA. I've literally never hit the theoretical max of 270 kW, or even close to it, at an EA station. I think the best I've...
I'd appreciate the option to choose either. I actually never use the PCM myself except to change car settings, so I always want to go straight into Carplay for media and navigation.
I only ever use the power button in the case where the car doesn't automatically turn on when I get in the car, which does happen sometimes. I never use it when exiting the car. Just shift into Park, get out, lock the doors by touching the handle dimple.
I know you said it's pretty shallow, any idea what the depth is? My sunglasses are fairly "thick" when folded up, I'm curious if they'd even fit in this thing.
Also, any idea if this operation is reversible if/when it comes time to sell/trade in?
Not that I'm condoning it, but presumably this would mean you could "grant" free charging sessions to anyone as long as you knew which station they were at, right?
That's cool that that worked. I guess EA is not verifying the vehicle credentials when starting the session. I assume you just started it from your phone, pretending like you were about to plug in your Taycan, and then plugged in the Model Y instead?
I explicitly leave a usb-c cable plugged into the back seat ports for charging phones at a fast rate without interfering with wireless carplay. This especially comes into handy if my wife or someone riding in the back seat wants to charge their phone without the Taycan talking to their phone...
