Report: Charging my Taycan at Tesla Supercharger with new CCS compatible magic dock

Very glad to see this as another option to charge! I got the 400v booster so this will be very much an option if it comes to chargers along my routes. EA has by and large worked for me, with a few big hiccups, but I’ve used Tesla SC before and their stuff just works. Looking forward to seeing...

Tesla to open ~20% of U.S. Superchargers to all EV by end of 2024

Have you tried reporting these stations to EA? They get BLASTED on their social media posts about sites not working properly, but they always reply to the people and ask what specific station Is the problem. Some people reported better results after they notified EA and a tech was out there to...

Tesla to open ~20% of U.S. Superchargers to all EV by end of 2024

There’s locations in CA open now as well as NY, but VERY few overall right now. I’ve seen and talked to folks who have charged with Lightnings, Bolts and the Genesis SUV. The cords fit barely, but you pretty much have to park to the right or left of the charger you actually want to use. So Tesla...

Porsche Says One-Pedal Driving In EVs Isn't Efficient

Fully agree on the efficiency. Had this car for 2 years and about 38k miles and I’ve experimented a lot with the regen, auto regen and coasting and the coasting is by far the more efficient way for this car to drive. I like the regen/auto regen when going downhill, especially behind slow traffic...

    Anyone install Ring Car Cam?

Install was very easy! I drive my car every day. Got almost 40k miles on it, so i leave it in the medium power setting. You should be fine with it in low. I’m very glad they gave different modes for different situations.

    Anyone install Ring Car Cam?

After a day of driving, i so far don’t think it’s too obtrusive at all. You get used to it up there and don’t notice after a while. We’ll see how more time does, but i like it so far.

    Anyone install Ring Car Cam?

I put it off center to the right on purpose. I didn’t like the way it sat centered. Felt like it might be more obtrusive centered. I don’t think it sits up too much, but I’ll be driving it this evening, so I’ll find out how it looks in a bit.

    Anyone install Ring Car Cam?

Here the camera is installed. I haven't driven yet, but it will definitely take up some of my view, but we'll see if it is too much or annoying in time. Works as advertised so far. Not the highest of resolutions but not bad either. I'll update as I get more time with it.

Tesla to open ~20% of U.S. Superchargers to all EV by end of 2024

I tried when I first got my Taycan and that cord definitely does not reach. I had to park sideways, taking up 2-3 chargers to get it to reach. They are going to have to do something aboup that to make this work.

Why go for the Performance Battery Plus?

It’s not a huge gain in performance or range either way and if you are fine with the smaller battery meeting your needs, no need to upgrade. I have the larger battery for the extra range as I do road trip and will take every mile I can get and I do on occasion like to show off performance, so...

Taycan Charging at 350 kW v. 150 kW

I’ve charged at 50kw before and that can take 45+ mins to get to 85% from 10% So that‘s not even comparable to the 270kw speed and time. The 270kw got me from 20% to 70% in 11 minutes. So it comes down to what your time is worth (and of course, if the charger works at the best speeds available)...

Electrify America raising prices at least 15% starting March 6, 2023

Guess I’ve been lucky and never got stranded for an EA charge, tho I have had connection issues and low charge rates. A few trips to Orlando/Daytona from Alabama and I had no worries. But the number of EVs Out there now using them and the many stories of Issues does give me pause. I am hopeful...

Can't Come Quickly Enough - Porsche Partners with ABB Charging

I got A response from EA today when I asked them about why these failed and if they addressed the issue, take it for what it’s worth: Hi! Thank you for your question. The arctic blast in late December did impact three of our stations, but we were able to identify and implement a firmware update...

1,000 Electrify America Chargers Coming to 200 TA Rest Stops Across the U.S.

I would say that as long as you aren’t having other cars waiting to charge up, go for it. But if you are charging at a fast charger AND you have the ability to charge at home AND cause other folks to have to wait on you to charge, that’s not good charger etiquette IMO. It adds to the problem (of...

Sport Sound Owners - Do You Use It Most of the Time?

I leave it on almost all the time. It provides a better sense of speed and I just think it sounds cool but maybe it’s just me. It SOUNDS like the future!? 2 years in on this car and till the day I’m done with it, I’ll be turning that sound on.
