I went ice grey after making the bet that the arches peel off leaving normal fenders. Glad I did, they’re removable. Just need to see how the side skirts look and whether or not I can live with a little bump there
Also curious about the side ultrasonic park distance sensors. Those would likely need to be replaced with sedan parts as well as long as the mounting in the bumper is the same.
My heart is still set on removing the plastic arches rather than paint..
Same as mine, 10/1 date in TYD to Marin, CA - I'm doing delivery at PEC LA so we'll see what date that ends up being. PEC is saying 10/22 or some such right now
there are no extra components required, it’s using what’s built into the motor. At high speed, your existing motor always does this (field weakening). Your motor is anywhere from say 60-95% efficient, so it already dumps a lot of heat that comes from the stator coils. The cooling system in the...
FYI, made a couple edits for clarity on 8/13 to the below:
It is indeed possible to generate negative torque in the motors without putting all of the regenerative energy into the battery. Using a similar principle to field weakening, the phasing of the rotor and stator rotational fields can be...
At least you’re getting a MY22 from the sound of it.
Mine has been sitting at the port of Emden for a week and a half. I’m not sure why but there are no shipments scheduled to the west coast this month so it looks like it’ll spend an entire month just sitting at the port waiting for a vessel...
Most people reporting their phones work seem to be T-Mobile customers in the US from what I’m reading. I’m T-Mobile and only saw this thread after my build locked. Will find out soon!
Just finished production more than a month early today after 4 days in production, on its way to port Emden now. Delivery 9/24.
Hoping track your dream is correct
Timeline for me in Northern California, delivery at PEC LA:
Ordered and allocated 4SCT during week of launch, with “late August” delivery
Build lock 7/5
Production started yesterday 7/26
Delivery scheduled for 10/29 (after several delays, early sept, then ~9/29, then 10/22, now 10/29.
Do you have the thermally and noise insulated glass or no?
my build locked a couple weeks back but I’ve asked the dealer to remove the glass option based on this thread. Can’t imagine how frustrating that would be, definitely not worth some noise reduction
The first thing I do when I get mine will be to see if those wheel arch covers can just be pulled off. Looks so much better without the black plastic arches!
I don’t suppose you’d be willing to probe around those wheel arches to see if they’re fastened in or double sided taped on? :)
I’m still very interested in removing the plastic arches from mine and I won’t have it in hand for three more months!
Does anyone else remember this from two years ago today? https://electrek.co/2019/07/17/porsche-taycan-250-kw-charging-launch-promised-350-kw/
I wonder if 350kW is still the plan, any info in the past two years?
