I don't think it really is a huge number feye. Whilst I am sure there are people experiencing shipping faults that don't post on forums, forums tend to be full of people posting problems. Dealers have told me in the past that cars do get damaged during shipment.. but not that many and they don't...
I think you've been unlucky.. as I was with my delivery delay "quality check". Just not a good time to have problems with this COVID situation. I would be a bit annoyed that the GM has only just been informed.
I don't know whether it would help you.. but my solution was to have a backup plan...
This is a pretty annoying problem for you flickroll.
In a normal situation pulling from a donor car is this obvious thing to do but demand is high so I guess most suitable donor cars will be for a waiting customer which will just pass the problem on to them. In my view, Porsche should find a...
Unfortunately this is what happened to me. My car was actually built on the 3rd of June. I started chasing where it was at the end of June and was told after a few days that it was being held by Porsche for quality reasons. The dealer had no other information. I have experienced this before with...
Mine should be at the dealers within a week. I was also told that it had been pulled for a quality check (actually I think they just said held). It may well be this 12v battery problem or some similar fault. My car will be around 3 or 4 weeks late or, counting the COVID delay on top, Over two...
I didn't say it was structural I said it was major undertaking.. The glass roof will be bonded to the car and may not be particularily easy to remove and replace. However, the robot makes it look rather trvial on a new car and maybe Porsche have designed it to be a straightforward replacement.
Maybe by comparison flickroll but still really bloody annoying. I hope it doesn't take too long to resolve. It does seem a bit ridiculous that Porsche won't let them just do a temp fix with the thing although I guess they have to be super cautious these days. Have they given you a loan car?
It may seem like a minor feature but the chrome trim at the rear is fake and disguises the real shape of the window line. I suspect the car will look a lot better in the final form. Overall I'm happy with the swooping style of the current version but might consider the Sport Turismo (agree with...
Couldn't agree more. I just wouldn't accept it in that state daveo4EV. It is not like it is just a minor problem which can be fixed without any major undertaking. I hope you end up with a satisfactory outcome.
Yes 19MPG is on the edge of acceptable from my point of view. The fact that the Taycan now seems to be in Grimsby is making this decision considerably more difficult. 50/50 atm.
I did manage to communicate with Phil. He said he drives in Sport + and suggested that it could probably get 19 average if driven more, ummm, normally.
Hmmm.. Somehow your post looks a bit unfinished mate :)
Anyway.. The Bentleys have incredible interiors and the exteriors aren't bad either (especially this gen). The Aston interior doesn't really compare but whilst the DBS and the Continental are GTs it's a very loose term. The DBS is really...
Thanks for the fast response Dan. Honestly the DBS is probably the best looking car I've ever seen. The interior isn't quite as good but with the right spec it still suits the car. Very exciting car to drive albeit partly because it has so much torque and only 2WD. I'm sure it is a handful in...
I watched a youtube video on the DBS and the MPG was one of the guy's hates. which totally supports your comment. I put this to the dealer and he insists they generally get around the 19 area. He sent me a pic of a 2800 mile trip reading which had averaged 31mph (so not just motorway) and it...
Very true but also probably true of a large number of car purchases through this period. My dealer called me again today.. Now it is actually showing as "Exit port Emden -17-7-20".. So it is probably on a boat. Expected date at dealer is revised to 7-8-20. Obviously as most others in this thread...
My car (a Turbo S) was originally due to be with me early June but actually got built on the 3rd of June. This was understandable in the circumstances. My collection date was changed to around the 12th of July. Unfortunately the car never moved from the factory compound. I was eventually told...
Mine should have been shipped from Emden on the 26th. Spoke to my dealer a couple of days ago and it is held in Emden by Porsche for a QA check. No ETA.
This is almost certainly true Frank. I had two RS6s with stuck on implementations. It was always pretty obvious that Audi designed the dash without thinking about a HUD and then decided to put one in requiring a bulge of plastic on top. This video shows what it looks like:
The Taycan...
