I just finished rereading War and Peace as part of a fine literature course offered on YouTube by a guy named Ben McEvoy. Much better than the thread, I have to say. ?
Sorry if I have missed discussion on this point, but wouldn’t it be useful to have a facility at Porsche, maybe at only certain regional centers, where the large HV battery is refreshed, plus any other mechanical repair is made. A warranty of, say, 3 years is given on the refurbished car...
I think the market, including us, has started to come to terms with a grim realization about EV ownership: at some point the car will die, and you will not be able to revive it, because it’s source of power is, in effect, terminally ill. In fact, you will probably have to part with the car long...
It was surprised that Nick Murray, the guy who had a 911 lemon and took on the company over it, and who is usually fair minded and informative about all things ICE-Porsche related, said he counted Kyle among his friends in his most recent video, which spends a fair amount of time throwing shade...
Thanks for your comment. I took a 1,000+ mile trip down to Florida using only EA charging without incident. But locally, for some reason, charging has been very hit or miss. And with so few *available* locations to choose from, this can be a serious problem.
I do have a question for you. How do...
I have found *that I often don’t get the “click” you hear as this guy plugs in the nozzle. It apparently help to *pull up* on the nozzle right after to plug it in (with no click) to initiate charging.* If anybody has more to add on this, I’d like to hear it.
Top notch?? On a recent fail EA charge, I call their support number and only get recorded messages. No actual person at all! Awful. It turns out, thanks to advice from somebody in a neighboring stall, you *have to hold up the cable just after it’s plugged in to get a charge to initiate*. I am...
Thanks for both of your replies. I will try holding the “nozzle” in more to see if that helps. It was a scary moment, as I was down to about 20% and no obvious, reliable alternative charging station— that would eat up even more energy and THAT second one could fail as well. Ari has answered a...
I have had this happen several times. And when it does I get some kind of error message from the charger tower, saying the charge has failed. I f I am finally able to get a click, charging proceeds normally. Have others had this experience?
I am thinking it may have something to do with the...
Two features on my 4S I don’t use are “Innodrive” and Park Assist. I tried Id once and it saw a speed sign and *immediately* slowed down. The guy behind me almost hit me. It is way too fast to adjust speed. Same with Park Assist. It speeds into spots like a maniac. And think about it—do you...
You’re right — concern about charging is a pain. However, when I first got the car I did an East Coast drive from the mid Atlantic to Florida with no problems charging and welcome stops after several hours driving. This was using EA chargers. Since then, EVGo seems the better choice here in...
I have the MY21 4S. I agree my first year was one problem after another, including dodgy charging at EA and getting to know their help team almost on a personal basis. After some software updates, things seem to have settled down. Charging at EVGo works mostly fine and EA even works sometimes...
Your experience driving the Turbo S is interesting, but it’s just anecdotal. I will be guided by the scientific information we received from this video, and I’m glad I received it When new, peer reviewed information comes out we can use that. (I’m assuming the speaker has published.) My...
When was the last time you pulled up to a gas pump and it didn’t work? If you’re at an EV charging station with about 15% in the “ tank“ it’s a disaster, because, do you have enough charge to get to the next location, and will it be out of order as well?
I think something like this is the...
