There is no reason why you can’t coast with one pedal driving as long as there is a suitable power/regen display on the dash and some decent software controlling the motor. I used to regularly coast in my i3 and rarely used the brake pedal. Make for a much better, if different, driving experience.
Mine went through production early Feb. There was a 1 week slip in projected production started date from what was originally scheduled in Nov 2022. This has resulted in a corresponding 1 week slip in delivery to PRG Reading. Of course, I haven’t taken delivery yet, so there could be further...
Just checked the UK configurator; you can now add Bose to the RWD base model, so I guess the Bose amp shortage is history. Bit annoyed really, my order is headed for production end Jan without Bose but is would had added it if I could.
I guess the likes of ZapMap et al need to start reporting the power contention ratio of charging devices on their maps so we can gauge likely charge rates based on device availability.
I run a 23 year old mk1 Lotus Elise for my ICE fix. It weighs a measured 715Kg, 220hp and no power anything not even servo brake. It is mid(ish) engined but hardly perfectly balanced with a 38/62 weight split and has some interesting liftoff oversteer characteristics. it makes a wonderful...
And breathe.… Order freeze date today and SA has gone home. I can now stop messing about with the configurator and dithering over options. At least I know I got the colour right; Mamba Green and no glass roof either. Build date is set for mid Jan for end Feb/early Mar delivery. Can’t wait!
I think the Samsung mini USB-C drive appears to be the smallest currently available. There is also a Sony drive that’s about the same size, but with much less capacity. Both of these drives protrude so much more that the old USB-A flash drives because it seems that the manufacturers used to...
Hey Frank, if you’ve got some ALAC format files, can you give one a whirl? I’d love to finally be able to abandon ALAC to FLAC conversion that I only ever use in car.
*sigh* seems like no one makes a type C only flash drive that is as small as the type a flash drives I used in my 535i F11 all those years ago. Most available type c flash drives appear to have a type a connector at the other end making them so much bigger than the need to be.
Any old USB-C device that has enough capacity to hold all the music you want should be OK. However, you want to look for one that is as physically small as possible so it doesn’t stick out too far when plugged in. In the days of USB2, you could get flash drivers that were only a few mm bigger...
I don’t have a Taycan yet, but I use .flac files on an SD card in my Cayenne E-hybrid. Works well, and doesn’t require the phone to connect or to mess around with CarPlay. Of course, in a Taycan, you’ll need USB-C storage.
My order also switched to Phase 3 a couple of days ago. I also phone up my SA to enquire about production dates etc. The freeze date has come forward a couple of days but the enter/exit production and delivery dates remain as before, so I think it’s just the back end servers having a laugh.
By the way, make sure your house fuse is big enough to run 32A into your EVSE at the same time as the max load from the rest of the house. Some older house fuses are only 60A…
The Preparation for Porsche dash cam option seems to require a glass sunroof which is unfortunate for those of us that prefer the aluminium sculpted roof without the horrible step where the roof pillars joins the roof front an d back
