I agree, I find the dashboard clock a little obscured by the steering wheel. Nearly didn’t get sports chrono since I didn’t want the clock. Now I’ve got it, I love the clock - I’m definitely in a very, very small minority, but I think it looks great. The mode selector though is the key for...
Geez. I am going on my first trip since the second lockdown over the weekend so can post some December figures. It’s about a 160 mile multi-leg round trip over two days and I was hoping I could do that without charging on the way, but sounds like range is still plummeting with temp. Will...
If this is true, sorry for being facetious. Porsche should probably be more up-front, although I am sure that it is just a case that after 500 launches, the car will need some significant servicing to get it back up to level - as with any ICE car, performance will drop off over time I guess...
No, I don't think there is a way for us to check what up-dates have been applied, annoyingly. That would just be too easy. Ask your dealer if WLG2 has been applied and they'll know what you are talking about. If it is MY2020, pretty sure the dealer will up-date you to that if it's in service...
Dave T, Is yours MY2020? If so, have you had the WLG2 software update? My wipers used to randomly operate when it was completely dry, and, even though on the highest setting, would only operate in the rain when it was really heavy. So basically the exact opposite of what you want from a wiper...
Worth a try. I’ve loaded in a nearby fast charger into the nav while plugged-in to see whether that starts the preconditioning of the battery which I think Porsche says should happen, but I did not see any preconditioning while the car was plugged in. So possibly have to get going before the...
That's pretty much the numbers I have here too.
4S with Performance Battery ; 6900 km so far (4,300 miles)
Commute of 200km (125 miles) total (return) twice a week plus little city trips during the rest of the week.
Profile set to 85%.
Today outside temp 5,0C (40F), pretty heavy rain, average...
I use the Porsche charger for emergencies when visiting friends / folks (or will do when allowed!) and need a charge from the 13A 3 pin (which is seriously slow), but yeah, if you have a home charger it’s pretty useless. Annoying that us MY2020 owners had to pay £700 for it! At least it’s...
Yeah, it pretty poor that you don't get a cable with the Porsche, but Porsche are very good at charging for nearly everything. You need a Type 2 to Type 2 cable to charge at most free chargers. You can get the Porsche cable, but I think third party cables are just as good. I got a BP...
That's really interesting, thanks for posting. So with a consumption of 38.3, if we assume the battery usable capacity is 83.7kwh as originally reported by Porsche, the extrapolated range is about 218 miles. Based upon battery usage though, 28.2 miles taking up 12% (let's assume the battery was...
Thanks. It would be great if we could find a way that works consistently to pre-heat the battery. I think you are right that an extended charging session seems to heat the battery which probably means it is just the act of charging that heats the battery rather than the car actually...
Thanks for the info, really helpful. How did you preheat the battery to 26C? I just don't seem to be able to get the battery to heat up more than a couple of degrees C, and that's basically just from the side-effect of the battery getting warm due to charging, rather than the car actually...
Yeah, it’s the same for me so I assume it’s due to regulations, as I agree it’s a little odd. Doesn’t bother me too much as still looks good and from a privacy perspective I think you would have to be a contortionist to see anything through the rear window in or out.
Thanks. Actually 55F is about the same for me. Sorry, really rookie question, but how did you set the seat heating from the connect app. For the life of me, I can't work-out how to do that. I seem to just be able to press preheat or precool which just switches on the vents.
That doesn't work for me - an hour's pre-heating doesn't change the battery temperature at all. It may be that the ambient temperature isn't low enough over here to trigger the warming the of the battery. What kind of ambient temperature did you have before pre-heating the car?
