Not sure if it is the same issue we had, but I think it had something to do with the same iPhone being connected to Bluetooth and the car’s hotspot (which doesn’t work without a data package) at the same time. Whatever the reason, I disassociated / unlinked the phone completely from the car...
Yup, but in that case I would have thought that it should precondition the battery when you precondition the interior temperature without using a timer on the basis that you would not be preconditioning the interior if you weren't about to use the car. I could ask my dealer, but that would be...
Completely agree with you - it will take power from the mains to warm the battery up by anything other than a degree or so when the car's stopped. It's just trying to work-out how to instigate the battery preconditioning. It may be that it only works when the battery temperature is really low.
I haven't tried the timers at all (just don't want to risk triggering a 12V battery issue). Simply preheating/precooling for an hour (without using a timer) doesn't really do anything to the traction battery (well certainly not at 14C/57F). I'd be interested to know whether using the timer...
Just plugging-in doesn’t seem to work unfortunately, unless it only works at really low temps. Mine’s been plugged in all week and the battery is at ambient temp (14C/57F). I think it actually has to be charging (and possibly preconditioning the internal temp at the same time) to heat the...
Had a rattle in the door behind driver which was fixed (service notes suggest loose screws in the speaker). Now rattle in front passenger speaker occasionally, but struggling to recreate it since it is intermittent. I noticed that the storage area in that door is really tight to the speaker...
It is super confusing. The good-to-know app and the manual definitely say 85% for daily use, but my purchase contract for the car before delivery stated 80%, and my dealer said definitely charge to 100%. I sometimes get the feeling Porsche are making things up as they go along...
How did you get it for free? I heard that it costs at least 10-20k for the electricity companies to install three phase, since, in many cases, you have to dig up the road. Would be great if there was a cheaper way to get three phase - not that it matters to me at the moment, unless the upgrade...
You (should) begin to see an increase in range gradually. All Taycan's seem to start with a predicted range of around 200 miles, then increase as the car gets to know your driving habits and style. Also, the regen is probably only just beginning to fully kick-in at 200 miles (initially, the...
Well that’s as clear as mud. So when the car’s in long-term storage, try not to use the app too much - just when it is exactly the scenario when you’d want to check on the car regularly. Oh yeah, turn the parking brake off as well to make it easier to steal while in storage. Also not sure why...
I consistently get this problem. Sometimes I can get it back up and running if I go into settings, turn privacy to active, then turn it back to inactive. Seems to then reset the Apple Music. That process only sometimes works though...
I had a spell of a week when I used to keep getting the "PCM can only be used with sufficient battery charge" message, and it would just disappear after switching the car on and off. I don't think it's related to the 12V battery issue (I hope), and I think it's just a PCM bug. I hadn't left...
Thanks Scandinavian - that’s a game changer in cold weather if it works. Will have to try before my next long trip. Seems the BMS is theoretically much more intelligent than I’d presumed.
Don, we’re already missing you - keep a look-out for that Porsche performance EV camper van/Winnebago...
That sounds about right in good conditions with cruise control. I have seen a large drop-off recently though, which seems to be weather related. Currently I wouldn't expect much more than 200-210 miles in my Turbo (20inch) at a hypothetical consistent 90mph (temperatures are about 50/60F or...
Thanks. The issues with the battery percentage are concerning me, and I'm going to keep a record so I can show a consistent course for the dealer. It's not so much a long term issue - for example, if I leave the car in the garage for three days, I would not see a loss of more than 1%, but it's...
