Hello all. A question for the UK members. I know there have been many threads on charging and EVSEs. However I have a specific question.
Do any of you have have an EVSE that does 7kW but that you can manually limit/change the maximum output to whatever you want such as 3kW?
I am moving to an EV...
If they replaced the tracker fob with a trusted phone using something like Apple Pay technology it would be way better. Like most people I always take my phone when I go out
Now hanging my head in shame... just after my last post my wife came in to ask why her car had stopped charging and the charger had lots of red lights on it. Didn't rectify by unplugging but sorted by pressing the multi-function button. Maybe not so long for this world after all!
The cable supplied with my car (MY23) will charge at 11kW - which I think means it must be a 3 phase cable (otherwise would max out at 7kW) - unless I am mistaken
I have 2 of these (kept the original mobile charger+ when I changed cars and also have the current universal mobile charger). One is fixed to a wall at my house on a 13A socket that my wife uses to charge her hybrid - it has been outside since January. The newer universal one lives in my car and...
I was told it is fine as long as you don’t submerge it. I have had no issues using it in the rain and have one fixed outside that my wife uses. It gets wet but it is fine
Switching to Octopus Intelligent on my wife’s Evoque hybrId. Just got solar panels and a battery system which will minimise our higher rate usage. In the winter we can charge the batteries over night from the grid so I am hoping it will slash our electricity bills
I had trouble with car play after a recent iOS update. I had to forget the connection, re-boot the phone and re-connect the car play. It seems to have sorted it out and it now works again. Might be worth deleting the connection, re-boot the phone and turn off the car. Then go back after 30...
There is another thread on here with exactly the same problem. In the process of getting sorted now.
I suggest that you delete this thread if you can and follow that one. No point in duplicate threads.
It looks like this tariff is saving everyone money, just not quite as much money as it claims. I would probably be trying it out if I wasn’t having solar panels fitted tomorrow… then again, the scaffolders haven’t turned up. So maybe I am not having solar panels after all.
Just been out for a 66 mile round trip. Mostly motorway with some roadworks. 2.6m/kWh. Much longer trip last week - 125 miles each way. Got 2.9 and 2.8 there and back. Pre heated before going but not before returning
As above... the bubble has burst. Depreciation is back with a vengeance. If you haven't locked spec, cancel. If you have, speak to your dealer - they might be happy to sell it for you however sale or return deals usually cost £7k, so still cheaper to cancel if you left a £5k deposit. But I agree...
