My 2 cents about the usefulness of the bigger battery:
I own my Taycan with base battery for 2 years now. I kept a detailed log of how long I do DC charging. With this I can perfectly assess the advantage of a bigger battery.
There are two cases where the big battery could have been an...
Looks like we are a few steps ahead on charging infrastructure in (western) Europe.
I was in the US 2 times the last 2 years, and I did see charging infrastructure but it did look like it was less extended compared to Europe.
Off course you have a similar Tesla superchargers network. But...
Up to you to decide. Some people say you don't need (including me). Some people will say you do need it. Air suspension is mostly for changing the height of the car. It has a positive impact on the ride, but it is limited.
For sure the Taycan is a very good car with very good suspension, with or...
The 20 inch's are not too soft not too firm.
Maybe another thing to add:
The standard height of the standard spring supsension is a very good balance in my opinion.
Not too high, to still look sporty.
Not too low, to cause problems in normal traffic. (speed bumps,...)
That is also why I did...
I have the 20 inch aero turbo wheels on steel suspension on a RWD Taycan.
The ride is very good. I can't complain.
The PASM system (=Porsche Active Suspension Management) has a much bigger impact than the lack of air suspension.
You can easily configure the suspension with PASM. There is a big...
Coming back to this topic because it is hard to find any documentation about this.
1) Does anybody know if the Taycan support AutoCharge (like used by FastNed and Enwb) ?
2) Is it mandatory to have a paid ionity subscription via Porsche to be able to use plug n charge at Ionity ? If I would...
I look like the cabine heating in my Taycan is partially broken. I get warm air on the driver side and cold air on the passenger side.
Did anybody experience this before ?
I find it surprising that it can be broken only on 1 side. I would assume there is one common heater. It should either work...
Is there some overview somewhere on this forum about Taycan maintenance ?
Is there somebody that already did the typical maintencance tasks and is willing to write it down on this forum ?
Or is there existing online documentation to refer to ?
For example: replacing the cabin air filter. Is...
I have the impression that the resale value of an EV in the US is different than in EU.
The non-Tesla charging network in the US is less mature. And there is still debate about what standard will win. The Taycan CCS charging port is on the losing end.
The US is not that EV minded yet. Due to...
Programmable buttons for next and previous track are already available. You can configure the buttons with the diamond shaped icon to go to the next or previous track/radio station.
Yes off course.
Note that this feature already exists and works.
The only problem is that you can only activate it by setting the dc charger as a stop towards another destination.
So the feature works. What is not available, is an easier way to activate it.
Obviously, when you activate this...
I expect it will not happen.
Porsche is more about marketing than about pure technical excellence.
The silly launch control feature helps them to advertise high power but still keep a lot of different power-price levels. Plus they do not want to make the Taycan too fast compared to the 911. If...
Indeed. That is what we need. A button that says "bring the battery at optimal DC charging temperature asap".
Example1: You know where the dc charger is, so you do not want to enter its destination in the navigation. You know you will arrive there in 15min, and just want a simple way to sayto...
Hopefully they took into account the two most wanted features:
1) A button to preheat the battery
2) A button to activate launch control power all the time.
The unit for power is kW, not kWh. Charging speeds are in kiloWatt. Battery capacity is energy en is in kWh.
You probably do not get the full charging power because the battery was not preheated correctly.
In order to activate preheating, you need to set a destination (which is not the charging...
