An update from PCNA: "When researching the case and the WMP2 recall that was issued on some vehicles, the Taycan was not found to be affected by this campaign. The Taycan can be charged at full power as long as the correct outlet is installed within the charging area."
What an absolute cluster....
In any case, I opened up a file with PCNA. A regional manager would get back to me in about a week, I just want to be armed with the best information.
The PCNA rep today was adamant about WMP2 not being applicable to my car (she said WNK1 was, and my dealer...
Ahh....I see. Is it fair to say that Porsche recommends charging at 50% anyways? Regardless of PMCC software version, vehicle, whether they've software limited the unit themselves, or if I have the ability to manually adjust to a different amperage?
@daveo4EV David -- I called PCNA today, and they said that 'WMP2' doesn't show-up for my 2022 CT4...does that mean my PMCC (the $1,120 EVSE) isn't software limited to 50%? I bought the Tesla J1772 home (hardwired) EVSE, but I want to go after PCNA and open a claim...to see if I can squeeze...
I'm sure everyone has seen the MY24 price increases for Taycan (which weren't too bad compared to other Porsches, especially 992 and 718). I guess this confirms that there will not be a facelift for MY24 Taycan, as we expected...We'll just have to wait and see what the future brings.
If someone...
For sure! The finder is a great tool, especially as Porsche is not showing accurate new inventory on websites like Cars.com & AutoTrader.
That being said, a lot of dealers are still geographically restricting new sales, even for Taycans. Thankfully, my SA and the SAs of many kind members on...
There is an available CPO 2022 Taycan GTS ST available with low mileage at pretty much its original MSRP...definitely a nice spec, so PM me if you'd like to see some pictures and the build sheet!
Problem with Porsche is lack of clarity (has always been an issue with them imo...they sometimes drop nuggets of helpful information, but it's rare for them to fully explain delays). All you can really do is wait or just purchase a car off the lot that's similar to your ordered spec.
For anyone who needs/wants a Taycan now, there is a landed White/Red GTS Sedan available at MSRP…nice spec with Mission E’s & VLC Roof!
Please PM if you’d like to see the full spec.
Anyone who messaged me and ordered through my SA has only paid MSRP (no matter the trim) with no forced products/adds....even throughout all of 2021 & 2022, when things were crazy hot! For RWD, I've been able to ask my SA nicely to contribute to shipping costs for people.
Part of the reason why...
I'd also like to confirm the sentiments of another thread on here -- My SA has a good number of cars sitting at Emden waiting for new heaters, so cars are definitely being delayed. I'm curious to see how this affects Taycan sales figures for Q1-2 2023 (the sales figures were low last year, as...
Here's the process as I've come to understand it:
PCNA distributes Sedan and CT allocations...per whatever internal mix they have. I don't know how it's decided or what the mix is, but there are more Sedans than CT.
For a short window after this distribution (maybe a week?), a dealer can...
I don't think PCNA encourages/discourages anything. They just seem to distribute less CT allocations overall, for whatever reason (might be because there's less demand for CT when looking at the overall population - not at an enthusiast forum like this).
They likely intended for these Turbo and...
Turbo allocations have definitely been rare, but less people have also asked for them. 4S, GTS, and anything CT/ST are most popular...recently, CT/ST.
As I understand it, 4S, Turbo, & Turbo S can be ordered as Sedan or CT up to a certain point. I think it's a very short window to make the body...
