I remember sitting in the earlier model and being unimpressed with the level of fit and finish and, particularly, the height and width of the center console which extended all the way to the back due to the batteries. It was borderline claustrophobic on the inside.
My '21 4S purportedly entered production on 07/20 with completion now estimated at 10/15. Delivery to my dealer has now been pushed from what started as 08/06 to 11/26.
If these new dates stand firm I'll be taking delivery of my '21 about a month after some people receive their 22's
Mine since 07/20. Please post when you get word that your car has finally been completed. My TYD shows a proposed completion date of 10/15 or nearly 3 months from when production began.
Agreed. I ordered back in May and I'm now projected to get the car at the end of November. Seems as though this "6 mos." from order to delivery has been occurring for a while. The news would have me believe that this chip shortage will get worse before it gets better so I would think timeframes...
Agreed. My ‘21 ordered in May won’t be delivered until late November, hasn’t finished production and has been confirmed as a ‘21. When I inquired as to the logic of taking a car that’s effectively a year old when MY22’s are potentially on the same ship I was told that the ‘22’s will...
Much to my dismay I agree with this. Supply and demand... I don't see any "discounts" forthcoming when people are still waiting for build allocations...
Nope... My last "Milestone Completion" on TYD shows the following:
Nope. My last Milestone Completions date is as follows. Production is now scheduled to be completed on 10/15:
Spoke too soon. Since my last posting on this thread about an hour ago my dates have changed. My car should now complete production nearly 3 months after production started; 07/20 to 10/15 and the delivery date has now changed to three weeks later… 11/26.
at the risk of repeating myself, I ordered my car in early-mid May with an original EDD of 08/06. My dates have changed so many times that it’s been difficult to keep up. Like you, my build entered production on 07/20 but my new estimated production completion date is two weeks later than you on...
Great resource! I'd love to see a Taycan Turbo in Viola Metallic or even an Aventurine Green. The latter would be my color of choice if I wanted to spend $$$$ on a SO paint....
So.... in the past 24 hours I’ve seen my projected delivery date go from an already 4x delay to a date three weeks earlier.... from 10/23 to 10/01!... Woohoo! right? Not so fast .... this morning that 10/01 date has now slipped to 11/05....
My car is still stuck in production since 07/20
Like you, I ordered my interior in Blackberry but I neglected to go with chalk stitching and chalk seat belts. In hindsight I regret it a bit even though I’ve yet to take delivery of my car. I see the up charge for the belts but what was the uncharge for the contrasting chalk stitching?
FWIW, I’ve had white or off-white in my last three cars and always heard the “color transfer from jeans” lament nearly every time but I, personally, never found it to be an issue.
According to this recent article the current problem with auto manufacturing isn't expected to change any time soon:
