Here! My 4S was ordered on 05/13 and purportedly entered production on 07/20 where it has been stuck…. presumably due to missing parts and the factory shutdown. Delivery has been pushed back a number of times to what is now late October. No VIN has been provided but I’m assuming my build will be...
I’m not used to ordering something based on a projected schedule and having the delivery date(s) changed a half dozen times. Still, as I said…. In this current climate it is what it is
Sorry to say I doubt they’ll do anything considering current market conditions. I too will likely receive my MY ‘21 a week or two before the ‘22’s start hitting the ports. When I made a veiled threat to my dealer that I might simply cancel and move on he was unconcerned as I suspect he’d sell my...
I wasn't being disingenuous in regards to the aforementioned but, perhaps, I wasn't clear enough. Of course the manufacturer should subsidize this in some way and not have the actual dealership bear the inherent (total) cost of same. A cooperative agreement with EA locations is all well and good...
What better way to further the adoption of EV use then to have the selling dealer network put in a couple of high speed charging units? I simply don't understand why many of the dealers in my area don't do this....
Nice writeup thanks for sharing though I’m curious as to how you’ve spec’d out your 4S based on your view that it takes over $140k to get to get to where you feel the car is superior to the Audi?
The lease on my Roadster was up and it was the first time I actually wished I had a LONGER term as the car sill turned heads. I actually considered purchasing it at lease end but went to look at the Taycan and the rest is... as they say..... history.
I was originally given an estimated...
I’m coming from an i8 to a 4s and, in truth, I’ll miss that car. It was plenty fast, very good looking and virtually bullet proof. If they had continued making them I likely would still be driving one as the only real negative was the level of finish in the interior; it was bereft of a luxury...
I would think they’d have all the parts necessary to complete a particular car prior to moving it into production. Why *mostly* build a unit that can’t be released to the port until a particular part necessary for completion is in inventory? I would think it makes more sense to only schedule...
Well my car started production 2 days early on 07/20 with an estimated completed milestone achievement date of 07/30. I was expecting to get a "Production Completed" email any day now when suddenly last evening my estimated achievement date jumped to 09/10 (53 days in production?!) and my...
Mine went into production 2 days earlier than anticipated on 07/20 and, as of today, I still haven't received notice of production completion so it's been 9 days on the purported assembly line. I thought this was a bit long relative to what others have experienced but I simply chalked it up to...
interesting
That’s interesting, thanks. My car entered into production the day after yours and my estimated delivery date used to be 09/03 but it slipped to 09/10 a few weeks ago. My current “distance to dealer” is 3890. I see yours is 3945 so I’m assuming we’re fairly close to one another.
How long was your car “In Production”? Mine reached that milestone a few days earlier than estimated yet it’s over a week later and I still don’t see my TYD showing completed.
My car has been in production since Tuesday with an estimated delivery now pushed to 09/10. I'm in NY and my car will purportedly dock in Davisville, RI. An updated mid-August delivery would be great news and, of course, entirely welcome but I'm doubtful that will happen for me.
