  1. Am I crazy?

Your take is similar to mine (hence the post). I think having gone over a decade EV only, going back to a nicely built ICE car was alluring. Thanks for the take. Your initial point about the LC having to put in more effort I actually see as a positive…..making the engine work is part of the fun...
  2. Am I crazy?

Momentary lapse. I’m good. If anything maybe I’ll grab a used convertible as their prices dip to keep as a weekend car for engine noise nostalgia
  3. Am I crazy?

Having purchased a cpo with ~2,000km, a bulk of the depreciation hit had already occurred. It’s an apples to oranges comparison I know. A v8 luxury gt that’ll last at least a decade, vs the best EV on the road that I’ll probably (key word, I know) have sell in 5yrs (which will be even tougher if...
  4. Am I crazy?

I drive about 35-40,000km a year. Canada is 8yr/160,000…..so realistically around year 5 I will be coming close to that obviously I knew that going in. But I went with my heart not my head. It’s too bad there’s been no movement on recycling etc (I’m sure behind the scenes). Ferrari recently...
  5. Am I crazy?

Ok. I preface this by acknowledging my diminished cognitive abilities, so I turn to the state for help… I spent a decade in a Tesla, hopeful then that eventually some sort of battery recycling/reconditioning infrastructure would be developed to help offset the massive depreciation that would...
  6. Continental ContiSilent tires anyone?

Been on all seasons since getting my car. Looking at getting new wheels for summer and using current for winter. Road noise is significant (currently on the 21” CT wheels). I had 21” contisilent rubber on my Tesla, and it was much better…..once accidentally ordered the Contisport and it was...
  7. New owner questions….

I’ve had my Taycan for about 3,000km now (came from a 2014 Model S). Had to YouTube how to set up charging profiles the way I wanted them. Yes, not as easy as Tesla….but a 3min YouTube video isn’t difficult either. Scheduling service is better/worse. I’ve been trying to get a dashcam...
  8. Does anyone have 22” wheels not lowered

Thanks! Considering these wheels…among many others. I suffer from a bit of indecisiveness
  9. Does anyone have 22” wheels not lowered

**in your case the car looks great
  10. Does anyone have 22” wheels not lowered

Thanks. Exactly what I was looking for. Sometimes when you up the wheel size, instead of just filling in the wheel well, the larger wheel tends to give it a bit of a lifted appearance, screaming for the car to be lowered slightly if your case it looks great. Don’t worry if you don’t get what...
  11. Does anyone have 22” wheels not lowered

Still shopping for summer wheels. Does anyone have 22” wheels that hasn’t lowered the car. Wondering how they fill up the well without increasing the gap. I have a CT that I’m thinking to lower to sedan height, just not sure what size wheel 21 v 22 (currently on 21” at the higher CT height).
  12. Hmmmmmm

Ok so finally had some sunshine here and went for a drive. Car is silent on start up. I hadn’t realized the sound I’m hearing is usually present after driving and I guess I always notice when returning home sitting in my garage parked. I’m guessing it must be some sort of fan or cooling...
  13. Hmmmmmm

It is a 2023. It’s been lousy weather this week so she’s been in the garage while I putter around in my Prius  hopefully this weekend I can do a deep dive. But I ask again…..WhiteX you’ve had Teslas….are your Taycans completely silent when parked? Not trying to compare Tesla vs...
  14. Hmmmmmm

No no what I mean is, when the vehicle is on, I can tell. Sitting inside, I can hear a faint buzz/humm sound. It stops when the vehicle is switched off, and begins when turned on. So my question to you all is, are your vehicles completely silent when switched on….like absolutely no sound (after...
  15. Hmmmmmm

Inside while just sitting. HVAC is off. Will check to see if it happens right after turning it on. I definitely notice when I get home from driving….possibly battery cooling, but I’ll check. It is inside, and consistent….not something going on or off for the minute or two I’m sitting in the...
  16. Hmmmmmm

Just curious as I never noticed until I bought my car. Is a slight hum normal when the vehicle is on, even while parked? I’m used to Teslas, which are completely silent while “on” (until they start moving when rattles and wind noise take over).
  17. Do NOT crack your panoramic glass!

Did not know those kits existed. Beats going to the random dudes in tents outside big box stores
  18. Do brake lights illuminate during auto-regen?

They come on based on how hard they regen. But they do come on. It depends on how well the driver is controlling the go pedal. It’s not uncommon for newbies and bad drivers to be constantly letting off and lighting up (more common on highway with drivers used to completely letting off the gas to...
  19. Do brake lights illuminate during auto-regen?

It works well. But I’ve stopped using Auto mode because I could see it being very annoying for the driver behind me if the lights are coming on in certain situations. I am still trying to relearn normal driving after a decade of “one pedal driving”…..so maybe getting used to letting off early...
