ok, this is my understanding. You have 1 EV, a taycan. Once set up charging schedules are set by octopus. You don't need to set anything on the car. You set everything on the octopus app. THe % charge and time you want the car ready.
I have 2 EV's. Octopus only allows their app to control 1 EV...
got a mild bit of kerning on 1 whee; Will get a refurb in due course but thinking of a touch up paint application which will make it disappear.
Anyone know how to go that? is there a paint stick? Anyone know the colour code?
my 1y old car has been recovered twice due to the 12V issue.
My suspicion is the 12V has a fault.
Porsche have not found a fault and have not changed it.
I am about to go away for 2w and will leave it standing at home, charges at 85% with the power cable removed.
I now have the voltage readout...
love hate relationship is true. Bought brand new gts saloon 1y ago.
1. Have had 12V battery failure twice requiring Porsche assistance to attend my home
2. Had complete high voltage charging unit fail 120miles from home with whole family with me. Required rescuing car and PAX to home
3...
What might I notice moving out of my GTS saloon to a base new model base (as in the Taycan)?
What interests me is the quoted 400mile range which is a game changer from the paltry mileage from the J1.1.
Obvs option list is what it is. What else do I need to consider?
Cheers
That’s all really helpful.
Dave Birch; great comment. Hadn’t thought of that , but you’re right; better to pay 7p for the EV and earn 15p FIT.
I have a Tesla powerwall 3. I thing the Tesla gateway will direct solar directly to feed the house (which includes EV)
Hi. I have a 7kw solar array recently installed.
Currently the EV's are set to charge during the octopus go cheap rate of 7p from 2330 to 0530hrs.
I have not had a summer yet with solar but looking for advice as to the best way to set it up in summer days.
Is there a way to continue...
My 23GTS has just had its second “dead” experience. Call out made but I have a GB50 noco and a second EV. Was wondering about using the noco to jump the frunk and normal jump lads to charge the 12V
J1 here; I find it very variable. Sometimes I think the car throttles it (esp in cold) and sometimes the charger itself.
Ionity seems fastest for me. THe 270kw is for a relatively short part of the charge curve. Recently used a Tesla charger and it would not go above 80kw. That was a real pain...
I know many conventional superchargers are tricky with the Tacan as you end up using 2 bays.
However, I also know that some Tesla superchargers are designed differently, without that issue.
Is there a way of telling?
How do you switch off plug and charge in the PCM?
IT was both an AC DC failure on that side, Needed replacement. ~The other side was fine but there were no AC options at the Ionity charging centre and I didnt have the range to reach one.
The last few weeks have been a nightmare.
Car went in for brake hose recall 4-5 w ago. During this they did a software update and replaced coolant punp (noisy during charging)
Get car back and it fine except when I do my first commercial ionity charge 140miles away from home with family in toe...
