So, I was a regular user of the GRIDSERVE chargers at Rugby services before I got my Porsche and switched to ionity.
Summarising this thread are we saying grid serve charging is cheaper via PCS then tapping your credit card? I only use ultrahigh speed 350kw chargers (gave up on 50kw chargers...
I think that will indeed be the best solution. Ive no issue with charging at peak hours as long as I fully utilise the cheaper rate.
Will give it a go for a few weeks and report back
I don't think the charger links wit the Octopus. It links to the car. I have a primary EV linked to my octopus account. My taycan is a secondary vehicle.
Hey, thanks for this.
Initially read it and thought "What!" made no sense.
But now, thinking it through, I think this is starting to make sense.
So I'm assuming if you are at 60% and plug in it will wait till say 3am that start charging such that it reaches 85% exactly at 0530.
However, I...
Yes; I have an EV connected to the octopus app, I’m asking in relation to my Taycan which isn’t controlled by octopus.
essentially it would be the same issue for anyone with a non octopus economy 7 contract. How do you set the porker to charge at the cheap rate at night but stop at 85%
Switched to this tarrif with cheap leccy for 6hrs at night. I have 2EV’s; the primary car is my non-Porsche which I charge on the octopus app
the Taycan is my secondary car. I want to charge it to 85% in the cheap zone but cannot seem to set up the profile correctly. It keeps charging to 100%...
its a joke; it feels like they are making up things to change for. Most of which is "check". Do they actually do anything? replace a part, etc ? (aside from brake fluid and cabin filters)
the actual width restrictions have been ok with me. The issue has been the restricted kerbs in front and behind the width restrictor. Why do they have to be so long and so high? Ones near ne have metal bracing that has shards pointing inwards.
Its awful. I now take longer routes to avoid them.
Kinda annoyed I need the keys every time to release the charging cable.
my Audi has a setting to auto release the cable once charged.
can’t see this on the Taycan. Is it there or not?
Thanks
Just to feedback, Porsche Assistance attended. Exactly as predicted 12V was dead.
Mechanical key to open door
Current through footwell circuit to pop front hood
Boost jump start 12V
Took him 10min.
The only explanation was I had subscribed to innodrive and cancelled the sub. The over air...
was thinking that but the car is charged to 71% and everything I read suggests the 12V is charged from the HV.
Was wondering if there is any other possible diagnosis.
The car is only a few months old. There seems no reason for the 12V battery to fail unless there was an issue
My mercedes...
3w sat in drive untouched.
battery was at 80% now 70%
Cannot open the car. Fob not doing a thing. Lights on fob are bright so the fob battery is fine.
Do I have a dead car.
any thoughts on resuscitation?
the fact that the dust was off steering wheel only and not the copious covering of Alcantara over the whole of the interior makes me think its dust from hands.
But the point is well taken and noted
