That's pretty unusual - I didn't get that email until at least 10 days after mine finished production. Have you asked your SA to check their PSVM system and give you and update? The system will also confirm whether your car is on the ship, etc. They should be able to send you as screen shot...
Why don't you know if your car is on it? TYD would have the ship's name listed on the "on vessel" milestone. If it doesn't list the ship's name then yours is not on it.
Interesting. Never seen "moving" as a navigational status. Usually something like "underway using engines." And it says last update 9 hours ago down in the AIS section/source. Not convinced yet.
I'm not thinking it's an issue with the AIS - that's just sending a signal from the ship and the ship is brand new. I'm thinking they're shutting everything down on the ship which would be for mechanical issues. No way to know either way, just speculating.
The summer factory shutdown does not correlate with the model year changeover. MY'22 Taycans are scheduled to start arriving in early to mid-November in the US. So once they resume they should still be building MY'21 Taycans for a while. The changeover to MY'22 911s occurred some time ago, and...
TYD is not always the most accurate..... if you have questions about status have your sales guys check the PSVM system. If your allocation was for a '21 your vehicle will be a '21.
No, I don't think they'll get there in 6 days. Typically it's more like 8 or 9 to Halifax if you look at other ships on the schedule. Just saying that it's encouraging that the signal has come back up and new schedule has it departing today. These schedules are not precise as you know, but...
Some encouraging news for those of you stalking the Siem Aristotle.... it's back online getting a signal from AIS, and the new VW export schedule was just released and shows departure from Emden today. Hopefully that's accurate now. See attached.
I've owned 7 different Porsches and the Taycan (currently awaiting transport from the port) will be #8. Never had that issue with any of them, but I know what you're talking about - my sister had that issue in a big/bad way with a Ford Taurus several years ago.
There is something very strange going on with the Siem Aristotle. No signal for 9 or 10 hours? They must have shut everything down. If it had left the port it stays in AIS range all the way to and through the English Channel. Is your TYD saying anything different now?
I am not aware of any way to know if there's a mechanical issue. I was curious about that this morning so looked at the "port view" on Marine Traffic. The Siem Aristotle is moored at the vehicle loading dock - so at least it's not off somewhere else special where they do maintenance.
TYD still shows it's "on vessel" but the Bishu Hwy has already left Baltimore. TYD is relatively useless during this part of the process so I don't pay any attention to it. I had a 911 Targa delivered last November, and TYD still had it at the port while I was looking at the car at the...
Mine was on the Bishu Highway with yours - now sitting in Baltimore waiting for a truck. PDACPA's Siem Aristotle is still sitting at Emden - this is getting to be a bit of a mystery.
I've watched way too many of these ships over the last 5 years. Although the timing for this ship is long, I've seen ships in port for a week when it included a weekend. I would not assume anything is wrong here yet, but I'd expect it to be on its way very soon.
And I’m just saying that they, like all the other manufacturers, are trying to get cars to customers and manage the pain and inconvenience as much as possible. I suspect they weighed many different options and this was their best. I don’t argue that communication could be better. But some of...
Refuse it, or see if they'll hold on to it until parts are available. Alternatively they would not have built the car at all and you'd be waiting for months. Your choice.
