Help convince me to switch from a 911S Cabriolet to a Taycan 4S

Wife that’s encouraging a Taycan purchase.. I’d look at that as being very fortunate!

Help convince me to switch from a 911S Cabriolet to a Taycan 4S

I’d like to add to this as I currently drive a 2020 Model Y Performance with the MPP comfort adjustable coilovers (also have a 2018 Model 3) with about 15K miles of seat time and have adjusted the compression/rebound settings 41 times now for my daily driving (just street, no track; I log all...

Completely lost in choosing between sedan and sport turismo + spec

Would it help this conversation to know how the Porsche CEO classifies the Taycan? ;) https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/porsche-ceo-oliver-blume-tells-us-five-secrets https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/industry-news/porsche/oliver-blume/

    Paint on PPF

I would remove foreign paint with a detailing clay bar and detailer spray (or car wash shampoo) as lubricant. That should be the least invasive to your car or PPF. The only time you would want to avoid the clay bar is when going over the film edges as it would slice the bar and leave residue on...

First Ceramic Boost application to XPEL Stealth PPF

If your PPF did not already get a semi-permanent coating, you should look at Kamikaze Film Surface Coat. It’s a true ceramic coating that adheres to PPF- will boost self-cleaning and water beading for a long time. On my car, the coated PPF beats the ceramic coated paint on water beading and...

    Seattle Wheel Repair

Thanks for that! I came from NY/NJ before moving here 6 yrs ago and to be honest I thought the roads here are pleasant by comparison. Roads are so bad over there a Tesla would not survive. Dealt with tire bubbles and flats frequently and 4-wheel alignment are necessary every year or 2. I do...

Multi-topic (but mainly a trip report)

Congrats on your new car and the long trip home. Great write-up- it was an enjoyable read. When you had the charging problems, I hope you didn’t direct the anger at your car’s charge port! Hope to see you in the area.

    Seattle Wheel Repair

Is there something about Seattle roads (I’m in the area too) that just gobbles the 21” CT wheels? I’m familiar driving with 21” in my Model Y and has not been an issue besides being cautious with curbs. I would like to also get the same wheels but this and @philbur has me thinking. @whitex what...

    Seattle Wheel Repair

Sound Wheel Works in Bellevue has repaired my Model Y 21” curb rash perfectly and would be my go-to.

    BOSE Delays

Bose is back on the (new) US configurator for CT4. Try not to get tempted by other options??

No Burmester now but the return of the Bose??

The US configurator has a new design (rolled out this week) and Bose is again offered on the CT4 as a separate option for $1200 (not part of Premium Package).

Take ‘23 order or wait for MY24?

Maybe a hint from Cayenne refresh: https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a42487659/2024-porsche-cayenne-prototype-drive/ Seems a standard steering wheel mode switch is decoupled from Sport Chrono clock/compass option. Active (and standard) LED matrix lights for US maybe?

Questions about my final CT 4S Spec

Here's a sample dolomite CT4S from Porsche with the gloss black inlays with the ORDP (https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/2022/company/porsche-ag-initial-public-offering-inclusion-german-share-index-dax-30570.html) also...

    Ring car cam

I could be wrong but from what I could glean from the product page, believe this (like other Ring products) are event-based recording limited to a couple seconds whenever an event is triggered (motion/object/person detection). Some bad actors (package thieves and robberies) have used this to...

Sport Turismo - parcel shelf query

I used both polyester felt tape (1mm) and flocking tape (26 mils) of the JVCC brand on Amazon, and would be good to have both of those in your toolkit.. The flocking tape gives a more OEM look if the section will be visible; has different texture and like suede. The larger and fuzzy felt tape...

Sport Turismo - parcel shelf query

I like having a parcel shelf and my Model Y not having one magnified the terrible NVH from rear wheel wells and all the noise bouncing off the hatch glass and glass roof (have since added a rigid third-party one). I don’t have my CT yet but I imagine some felt tape on hard bits that contact...

Porsche Englewood (NJ) $20k Waitlist Deposit

I can add more color to this. When I got on the waitlist for Bellevue for a CT4 last month, I needed to put in a refundable $5k deposit. Sales said there were 15 on waitlist for CT4 as well as 15-16 on CT4S (may be shared pool as 4S sedan?). They also mentioned receiving 16 (IIRC) RWD...

    LED Matrix Headlights

I was in Bellevue then too! Looking at my photo of that slide, the 3.8 m/s/s seems to be the right number when at 100kph. I think you got the guy in a Brian Williams moment.

NEMA 6-50 install - I did it today - it can be almost trivial…it took me 2 hours!

Correct @daveo4EV, my gen 2 and 3 Tesla wall connectors, on separate 50 amp circuits and plugged into NEMA 14-50 outlets have worked flawlessly charging at 9+kw. When i eventually have the CT, the gen 3 will be swapped with the new j1772 wall connector as you had done in a recent thread.

NEMA 6-50 install - I did it today - it can be almost trivial…it took me 2 hours!

Hi all. My first post on this forum but I've been enjoying all the great contributions from members since 2020. Recently joined the waitlist for a CT4 and was in a Taycan Owners Clinic in Bellevue this month. This slide may be of interest here- the presenter from Porsche corporate (and travels...
