I’ve just been quoted £901 for a 2 year service from Porsche Stockport. They are adamant that the brake fluid needs replacing as the brake hose recall didn’t include a flush. Looks like I’ll be doing some phoning around tomorrow.
Can anybody recommend somewhere in the northwest or midlands? I...
I probably won’t buy another one but that’s mainly because I’m 60 and insurance in the UK is going to get more and more expensive as I get older. I reckon I’ll sell it when I’m 65 and see if I can’t buy something weird to drive around in. May be there’ll be a Zeekr 009 equiv in the UK by then.
I was working near the Porsche dealers today so thought I'd drive over and see what they have to say. 200m from the dealers, the phone disconnects from the PCM and re-connects. When I get to the dealers, everything is working fine so I turned around and went back to work.
I can see an insurance problem with the roof crack and the insurer arguing whether it is a manufacturing defect or accident. But I've never had a claim where the insurer refused to pay out what what was quoted for the repair. Is insurers doing this some sort of American thing? Anytime I've had...
I made a similar list when I bought my Taycan. It’s interesting that you put navigation on your list. I’ve never bothered with any cars in build nav and always used Apple or Google maps. I do wish I could display Apple Maps on the drivers screen though.
As for the infamous 3.3mm dent, that...
You're right about the problem with long trips even if 99% of your trips are < 100 miles. You're wrong that PHEV is the answer. It might be the answer for you but for others the answer might be a second car or just deal with the charging infrastructure, which is my solution as the Taycan is my...
My Taycan came with a subscription to the Porsche charging service. Which is all very nice, but how do I find supported chargers so I only pay the discounted rate?
This weekend, for example, I was visiting Bletchley Park and wanted to find a near by charger as I had a bit of spare time and it...
Press the menu/ac button on the lower centre screen changes the upper screen to the heating/ventilation screen. But press it again and it takes you back to the previous screen it was on, whether it’s Car Play, radio etc.
@Jm13rs I’ve got the same car and wheels and get about the same range as you’re getting. I have no idea how people are getting ranges towards 300 miles.
I bought an obd dongle to check the battery health in case that was a problem. It’s at 92.2%, to pretty normal for the mileage on the car.
My...
The last three characters in the tyre spec give the weight and speed rating. Eg W rating is for up to 168mph. Have a search, there are plenty of charts in line.
1) Delivery Soh - no idea, bought second hand
2) Current SoH - 92.2%
3) Current mileage 18300 miles
4) kWh DC charging - no idea unless it in the car scanner app somewhere. I’ve only done 1k miles since I got it
5) MY2023
climate is cool (old England)
In the UK i paid £68k for my MY2023 CT 4S with 16k miles and a reasonable spec.
You can have a look at the official Porsche finder site to see how prices compare https://finder.porsche.com/kr/ko-KR/search/taycan?model=taycan
It’s a minor issue but I dislike how high the brake pedal is compared to the throttle pedal. I’d prefer them closer in height so I can slide my foot over rather than lift it up.
Is there any way to change their relative heights?
Mine (in the UK) says 85% for daily driving
Use the timer function to programme a high-voltage battery charge level of approx. 85 % for daily use of the vehicle without any long-distance driving.
I bought insurance from a 3rd party, separate from my usual car insurance, that covers me for minor damage to body work, dinged alloys or a flat or damaged tyre. So for example if somebody opens their door in a car park and puts a small dent in my car, I should be able to get it repaired under...
