I left my Taycan connected to my Zappi charger for a few days, with the charger set to ECO+ mode, with the expectation that the car would only be topped up with energy when the Solar panels were generating more than the house actually needed (subject to the 1.4kw minimum).
I was therefore...
Thanks all!
I have the ABRP app, the Fastned app, the Tesla app and a fair number of other apps! I think there is also a Tesla charger at the Eurotunnel in Calais If I can get that far on the way home?
I will definitely be adding the Ionity chargers as favourites on my Sat Nav, and your...
We will soon be setting off on a trip to France via the Eurotunnel, from Calais though to St Jean de Losne (south of Dijon).
According to Google maps, this takes me on the A26, A5 and A31 - I wondered if anyone had frequented this route and can recommend the best places to stop for charging...
I don’t think it is. I’m definitely holding the wheel (and turning it!) when I’m entering a roundabout / cornering etc!!
There are other systems (that I’ve turned off) where I get a warning about hands on the wheel.
If it’s the same collision avoidance system that applies emergency braking when it thinks you might crash into an obstacle when parking, then I’ll probably keep it on and live with the warning beep - it’s saved me at least once when I’ve been manouvring and been focusing on not hitting the wing...
A few times when our driving in a ‘sporty’ fashion (eg heavy braking into roundabouts, fast cornering etc) I’ve had a triple beep from the dash.
I’m not talking about reckless stuff, just the sort of sporty driving that the Taycan is designed for.
Which system is causing this and can I turn it...
The main (centre console) screen was still working and when I added a destination, the directions were still visible on the right hand tube, so I would have managed!
This morning on my drive to work, the centre screen on the driver‘s display was blank, when it should have been showing the map. When I tried to select the Extended map, the whole display was blank, although I could display other items in the middle tube.
Once I’d got to my destination, I...
Yes, I imagine if you are clever you can obtain a much higher average rate than 15p/kw for selling back to the grid. However I’m not sure how easy it is to be ‘clever’ to achieve that!
What‘s the verdict on the Outgoing Agile Octopus tariff as opposed to the fixed rate (15p/Kw) version.
Fair point - I guess we could set a minimum level for the battery (say 50% full) to provide some limited back up potential. In practice, power cuts will likely be more likely in stormy...
Thank you - my Powerwall and Zappi are already all set up in what I assume my installer deemed the most suitable solution!
I currently have my Zappi set to Eco+ mode, which I think means that it only charges when there is more power being generated than is being used by the house. Given I’m...
My Powerwall is there primarily as a source for emergency power in the event of a power cut - due to our location we tend to be low priority to be returned to power when there has been an issue.
Of course it can also be used to manage demand and temporarily store solar energy for use at other...
We moved to the Octopus standard tariff about 6-8 months ago and they installed a new meter for us - I just emailed them to explain that we had 3-phase electricity and they arranged an engineer to visit the property.
it was a fairly efficient process, much easier than I expected!
I’ve finally got my Solar Panels connected up to the house, although my Powerwall set-up won’t be completed until next week.
In the current weather I am seeing a good 6Kw being generated on the app, where the basic requirements for the house are normally a fraction of that, so the app suggests...
