You forgot the smoking jacket, the driving gloves, the scarf and the cup of tea with milk....
I would, but I am such an a*****e that even the cars don't make it worthwhile....
Two big definite wins in my book in the Audi column:
1) The rear trunk CLOSES SILENTLY WITH NO BEEPING! Hooray! I know outside of US this is not a feature, but as minor as it was its was irritating....
2) Tire temperature readings in sports mode. Boy I never understood why Porsche doesn't do...
Its ok more power to you. I'll just enjoy my McLaren, my Alfa, my R8, my RS Etron, my Jaguar, my Tesla Roadster, my 718 Spyder, my i8 as I retire and get older...
So I listened to more reference stuff I have, the B&O is pretty good all in all. The main thing is to turn the treble down one notch as the treble is not as controlled as it should be and bump up the subwoofer one notch and TURN OFF all 3D and surround.
Thanks for the setup! Well its an unfair test for me, I went from the Burmeister from my TTS to a Harmon Kardon on the Audi. I have generally been a fan of Audi HK audio systems, they have the same level of care and quality as the rest of the interior. But compared against the Burmeister, well...
Great to hear positive experiences, I wish all of them were like yours! I do not have any "vitriol" towards EA, I just can share my experiences (like you do yours). Mine have not every matched yours. I would prefer if we all had the same experience you had.
I will be heading out on a longer...
I can't find out, but that is a good point. I wasn't sure why by their numbers the RS Etron GT needed 5 more feet to stop, must be the standard breaks. Still the point is the same (which is what you were saying), if for track use I would lean towards the Taycan TTS, but for non track, for me, I...
So I found some hard data to compare my impressions with. There is common data for Vairano Handling Course for the TTS and the RS Audi. TTS finishes the course in 1:15 and the Audi completes it in 1:17.6. So TTS is definitely slightly more capable which makes perfect sense. This can also be seen...
i never could see the panoramic roof as driver, so it really doesn’t make a visual difference. I can see from sitting in the back that it would feel very different for rear passengers. Strangely as much as I like panoramic roof look and feel on the I-Pace it didn’t matter as much in a sedan. As...
If you mean in the Taycan it used to take me a few tries to find it. I don't have the car anymore, but it was somewhere under settings->vehicle-> but then I don't remember where. It wasn't in the interior lighting I don't think, its wherever the display settings were?
On another note and before...
I am sorry but I will stop reading a review that is FACTUALLY incorrect, makes you question the rest of the article. "You are looking at the least efficient fully electric vehicle currently produced today, period,"
Total BS, I own a few and the Taycan is currently the MOST efficient of the ones...
I want to add another observation that has nothing to do with ride quality. For my personal tastes the Audi MMI, displays from quality, responsiveness or even graphic choices, and look and feel of the interior detailing, all feel more refined and inviting. This is entering purely the realm of...
The effect I am talking about it interesting: with the "no roll" body the car feels much more planted, BUT it also feels less relaxed. This is excellent for a track or for always driving in a spirited fashion. But that combined with the height etc makes for a less pleasant "daily driver"...
I don't notice much change in the I-Pace steering from mode to mode. To me the I-Pace steering feel is somewhere in the middle of the RS Etron and the Taycan. I have had no issues with the steering of the I-Pace, but I feel its neither fish nor fowl.
Sorry I thought I answered. Honestly I think the image quality is a little better, but the overall funcitonality is very comparable. Is there something specific you would like to know?
To me its mixed. IF I can have BOTH kinds of steering settable by mode then its great. But if I have to...
I wanted to share some more observations and thoughts as I go. The big thing is the steering tightness. The RS ETron even in dynamic is more relaxed. Its just as capable but not as precise feeling/tight. I miss that from the Taycan. And then interestingly that same constant "over precise" and...
I think the camera/image is sharper, but then again the displays are higher quality. And I am comparing a 2020 TTS to a 2022 RS ETron.
But overall the MMI is much nicer, more intuitive, and the everything works "smoother."
Never liked the Etron SUV, but I believe the Etron GT and Taycan...
Remember I am not "clocking" the performance with gear, this is "seat of the pants" speed measurement. The TTS caused a little more pain in full acceleration at under 40 mph. Also the Porsche accelerator was curved VERY aggressively in all modes. In the Audi in comfort it curves very nicely...
