Newbie - any home charger recommendations?

As a colonial I don’t understand why there is a reticence to just purchase the Porsche home charging unit. I have one and it works flawlessly.

Safer or better driving experience with energy recovery?

My first drive almost resulted in a rear end collision because I was so used to the car slowing when you lifted the accelerator due to compression from the engine. WOW, the Taycan kept going! Emergency stop and off to the right. No collision. A near miss as the FAA says. But now in traffic I...

Anyone have a Taycan and a Macan?

I do...a 2017 Macan and a 2020 Taycan. I do split usage as you noted. Usually the Taycan for longer trips (10+ miles) to save fuel and shorter ones for the Macan to haul groceries, etc. I also keep both fueled up to ensure I have the ability to use one or the other in case of emergencies.

    EV Macan?

I have a 2017 MacanS with 33k on it and love it. Keep one gas and one EV in the stable just in case ... here in CA with the fires, storms and earthquakes it's safe to have both capabilities.

    EA charging network rant

One problem I've found when on the road. You can locate EA chargers on the app in a certain mall , but you have a hell of a time locating them in the overall parking garages. In Santa Rosa, where the mall has two large multi-level garages, it was impossible to find them! And no one to ask.

    Porsche connectivity renewal

You have to buy the whole package again which then gives you another year of free charging. But it's not free to buy it... Porsche Connect Services: Finder, Voice Pilot, Navigation Plus, News, Calendar, Charging Planner, Weather, Carfinder, Location Alarm, Radio Plus, E-Control, Climate...

My Taycan no longer a virgin

I’m with you re virginity. My 2020 was backed into while I was stopped at a stop sign. Just a tap to the rear right quarter. Almost invisible. But of course that’s where the sensors reside. So, a new bumper and readjusting sensors - and $9k later - are good to go!!! Thank god for USAA.

Anyone Get the Trunk Foot Wave Thing To Work?

Sure, after my shins were repaired! It works but you have to stand on one foot with groceries in both hands and wave your other foot around...in and out, not side by side...put your right foot in, put your right foot out...etc.

Are door handles really such a hard thing to get working reliably?

My problem is not as drastic as yours but the touch control on the door handles seldom works. I have to use multiple fingers to finally get it to recognize me. I have a 2017 macan and the handles work flawlessly both to lock and unlock. Why would they change the tech from one to the other???
