Underbody Protection Panel damaged. Batteries and coolant lines need inspection. $72.5K replacement & labor cost. Dealership is Tom Wood in Indiana

Given an earlier post there's dealers that are scanning underbodys on new cars coming from Germany - I'm not sure how many dealers are getting the UVeye system, but man, I think that's gonna show up a lot

Glad you got off lightly - whilst it's been a shitshow for me I'm glad it's given awareness to everyone that's read this thread. Clearly this plate isn't as strong as some people think

Underbody Protection Panel damaged. Batteries and coolant lines need inspection. $72.5K replacement & labor cost. Dealership is Tom Wood in Indiana

To address the proverbial elephant in the room and it's something I don't think I've specifically called out as to why my car wasn't totalled with the original estimate - and as much as this is through gritted teeth Tom Wood do have a positive part to play. So when my damage was 'inspected'...

Two weeks into my MY25 4S

Ignoring the second home that is my dealer (Tom Wood) - love what you've done and do love the darker tones. I can't but help that if you had the tear drops how amazing they would've looked in blue too - just a thought

Different scenario same consequence - it's a collision just an 'at fault' one technically. So as long as you have that coverage you should be covered

Underbody Protection Panel damaged. Batteries and coolant lines need inspection. $72.5K replacement & labor cost. Dealership is Tom Wood in Indiana

I've been reflecting on this whole situation and some of the comments posted in this thread. I have to admit to Tom Wood not covering themselves in glory through this I still keep coming back to Porsche and their blanket policy: So to summarize here: Anything above 3mm is an inspection and...

Underbody Protection Panel damaged. Batteries and coolant lines need inspection. $72.5K replacement & labor cost. Dealership is Tom Wood in Indiana

The interesting thing here is that if the plate was strong enough then this wouldn't or shouldn't be a concern. Checking the car doesn't get a dink from shipping is pretty shocking!! I'd be interested to hear if they've ever had that happen

Underbody Protection Panel damaged. Batteries and coolant lines need inspection. $72.5K replacement & labor cost. Dealership is Tom Wood in Indiana

Picked up my loaner a little while ago and did get an update from the service rep. The HV tray should be with the dealer mid to late next week. So I'm expecting it to be done in a couple of weeks, based on scheduling in around already planned work etc. etc. So at least the battery came in nice...
