Haven't asked yet. They'd mentioned a wax or protective type process at one stage so it might be something I think about for when we start moving towards a confirmed date.
Yeah, we've basically done that around the time of the finance being sorted.
One of the senior guys popped over for a chat during our 2nd visit and made the mistake of asking how I was. Haha.
I was polite enough but he knew it hadn't been plain sailing.
Since that point, the process has been...
Yeah we had a receipt and booklet confirming things after the deposit was paid too. It's the finance "quirk" that had us questioning it being in the system as they essentially had no record of us or approval to process the order at their end (despite having the depot cash) in all that time...
The 1st or the 2nd one?
First had been a mechanic who moved to sales.
Second came from another car manufacturer and was only there for a very short period.
I've moaned about it on a few threads now but the entire process has been disappointing.
Turned out the first salesman was a friend of a friend. We knew he was leaving the business pretty soon after our first meeting with him...not due to him or Porsche telling us...it was our friends who...
That's good to hear.
It might just be that all the delays / Ukraine / 12v batteries and general World issues are causing it.
I'll explain my situaton in the next post...
Glasgow.
Back in September during first visit, there was no one in the queue apparently.
At deposit in Nov, we were told there was now one.
Come March we were first again. I don't know whether that was due to an order having been fufilled or that "customer" having pulled out.
I can't...
This is a concern of mine to be honest. I was told I was first in the queue a few months back around Q1 of 2022 after putting the deposit down in Nov21.
Have now been told that there'll be no Turbo Ss delivered to the dealership this year and it'll be in to 2023 before I see mine.
I'd love to...
It's 2023 they're saying now.
If it's 2024, I'd just be cancelling it altogether, lol.
It's probably a bit late now to start doing that. Given I'm 9 months into the process. I'd imagine any deposit I put down elsewhere now goes into the 12 month+ wait everyone has.
If I'd known I might have...
I believe you.
Doesn't make sense for my time line though...
Deposit paid - Nov21
Estimated delivery - May22 -
UKRAINE -
May22 information - Possibly delyaed upto 6 months to Nov22 but hopefully delivered before then.
UPDATE IN JULY 2022 WITH NO REASON WHATSOEVER
Most likely delayed...
A few weeks shut down that is regularly planned for in their summer period shouldn't affect general projections. It wasn't an unknown.
Like Dabz says, you'd surely consider trying to catch up a bit but if the laws are such, maybe they can't.
It shouldn't be a reason for further delays on...
Yeah, seems that 15 months is about the norm these days even in a best case scenario. I get that from this point after the Ukraine situation further complicating matters
I just seem to have lost the 6 months from Nov21 to May22 as part the period when things hadn't ground to the point they have...
@WuffvonTrips
I mentioned your comment about "all 2022 allocations having been made to dealerships" to my sales rep.
Got this reply last night...
"Although what you are saying is not yet 100% confirmed by Porsche, it is sadly my belief that this may indeed be the case"
That does not sound...
They've possibly taken delivery but I couldn't be sure.
We spoke to Porsche initially in Sept21 and there were no others in the queue at that point. By the time we decided to go for it in November, there was one ahead of us.
We're first again now - and I think that was the case since the...
Yes, with the sensible head on, I'd hope that's the case with the order. Despite them having a four figure chunk of your money from the moment you sign up, it's not really live at that point.
Just going by your post I quoted, I wondered if that was it for the year?
Could it be the case...
I'd hope that's not the case.
Got an email update from my rep yesterday with the news that there's no update on the Turbo S we put a deposit down for in Nov'21.
The latest rep has been good in keeping contact but the previous two were a shambles (one was leaving the business as it turned out...
I think that depends on who you're speaking to at the dealer.
I've seen some salesmen who don't get access to that information (according to them at least)
Spec looks the same with the wheels etc. Dunno where it was in the UK when we were offered it. Don't think the mileage was as high as you're saying though. I've still got the paperwork. Will check out of sheer interest.
