It has been my experience, my beater Ford had gotten dings and even worse, while my Boxster stayed pristine. And I believe the "broken windows" theory is at play here. People see, even just subconsciously, a nice, clean car, and they get, again subconsciously, more careful when opening their door.
Ah, I see. But I’m not sure patch repairs are legal, or at least advisable, on a Porsche (pretty sure the manual at least says you must not do it). Patch repairs are entirely illegal (on any car) in Germany, because of the Autobahn among other things. They are legal on bicycles, but not motorbikes.
You don’t have to refocus your eyes with the HUD. I have 20/20 vision, but not having to refocus is huge. Also, the HUD has the important information right where you need it.
The only thing that bugs me is that it gets very dim with my polarized sunglasses, but that’s just the principle of how...
Interesting, can you elaborate why? For me tire pressure is something that I check maybe once a year, or even less, and then I had to adjust the pressure even more rarely than that (on my Boxster, which also had 21" wheels).
To the overall topic:
I tried having "my" optimal layout, but came to realize that really, I change it all the time depending on the situation. It's easy to switch things, so I do that.
My only question mark in doing so is the left tube of the dash. When ACC/InnoDrive are on, I use it for that...
I agree! First car with the HUD, and I recently realized just how much I came to rely on it.
I only read the speed from there, and it also helps tremendously with the driving assistance (ACC/InnoDrive), as I can always have an eye on that without having to look at the dash.
Also, I started...
Isn't there a sound anyway when driving slowly? Does turning the sports sound on make it louder?
It did? Oh wow. I have the Burmester too, and indeed I don't see that... did they get rid of it in an update or what? What could you do with it?
The Macan is shorter and narrower than a Taycan... I know because I once got a Macan as a loaner while my Boxster was getting fixed. Compared to the Boxster, it was very difficult to get into my garage.
When I considered the Taycan, I was shocked to see that it was even bigger. But I measured...
I don't know whether that was satirical, but while I did take some extra care of my previous Boxster (e.g. by leaving enough space from a driver's side door, and take a spot further out if one is readily available, but not too much), ultimately I thought "it's a car, it's meant to be used, if...
I have to check again, but I think that's not true for me, because I have the Burmester. Apparently the amp is under the compartment, and the Burmester amp is larger.
I read that with the "standard" stereo (for trims where even BOSE is an option), the compartment is even larger.
Since we all know the issues with the North American PMCC, I pretty much ignored mine and bought a different EVSE instead (Emporia Energy, pretty happy with it). Instead, I just put the PMCC in the frunk and drive around with it, "just in case".
It now occurred to me that this is taking up a...
I‘m in the car right now (waiting for something). No haptic feedback option for the center screen.
By the way, I thought so too with the center haptic feedback even when nothing is actually activated… but trying it out right this moment, it does not seem
to be the case after all?
If I press...
