Important advice when fitting new wheel sets

Note that my "EASY" experience was with aftermarket wheels and sensors. I wonder if the ONLY folks having challenges are with OEM packages? We know: - Some folks with Aftermarket wheels/sensors ARE NOT having issues (Me) - Some folks with OEM wheels/sensors ARE NOT having issues (You) -...

HomeLink programming problem - repeated signals

So maybe my theory stands? I've NEVER had the homelink menu pop up. Neither when I had THREE buttons or now that I had to (needlessly) delete TWO of them so I could close my garage door without messing with the backup camera. IOW: I used to have THREE buttons defined and now I only have ONE...

You do you! I'll do me! Why? Cause we are simply the best at it! :)

HomeLink programming problem - repeated signals

So, you are saying your Homelink Menu automatically pops up at your "Off Road" GPS location? (So much for my theory...) Then why did you need to assign a UDF Button? (I applaud the attention to detail in your message!)

    12 Volt Battery issue now

Yeah, I'm all for Porsche feeling the pain, but I'm not giving them my car simply to achieve that. I'll get my car up and running ASAP without having to deal with all the logistics and dangers of getting it towed, banged around, and placed in the hands of multiple unknown folks along the way...

    12 Volt Battery issue now

MY SPECULATION (and others as well I believe)... ...is that the PCM is waking up AFTER you turn off the car and then not shutting itself down when it should. Personally, I'm willing to bet a Charging Timer, or Porsche Connect (remotely), is waking up the car to change charging parameters and...

HomeLink programming problem - repeated signals

Could be a MY21 fix... We should probably always keep an eye on the MY's since we don't really know all the stuff that might be changed/fixed/etc. I'ld be curious if ANYONE with a MY20 had this work as designed? I also know other folks were complaining about being "Off Road" when they really...

    12 Volt Battery issue now

I'm all for providing valuable diagnostic info to Porsche. But, given all the time Porsche has known about this, and the fact that they still haven't solved such a major issue, I'm not sure I want to just give them my car have it sit at the dealership for days and days. Whats the point? If...

HomeLink programming problem - repeated signals

Not for me nor for many other folks in this forum. (I'm guessing this might be because the GPS shows me to be be "offroad" when I am near my garage. My driveway is about 1/4 mile long. ...and yes, the GPS location was recorded right in front of the door)

Qualifying the "Porsche Expert" at your dealership...

I guess my point is, wouldn't it to be nice if you could ask a couple of questions to try and get some idea if the guy/gal who was going to fix your car actually knew anything about them? There are lots of stories here where new owners were given some pretty shocking advice from folks who...

Qualifying the "Porsche Expert" at your dealership...

Hah! However, that reminds me of a couple of other good questions. - Should I expect to get 350KW charging from a 350KW terminal? - How does my arrival SOC effect my charging rate at a charging station? (...but don't actually use the term "SOC") - Is there any benefit to "navigating" to a...

HomeLink programming problem - repeated signals

FYI: I enabled "GPS location" in my Homelink settings and it doesn't do a fookin' thing. (I understand its supposed to automatically bring up the Homelink menu when you get near your garage... NOT actually open the door).

Qualifying the "Porsche Expert" at your dealership...

There is no shortage of threads here where Porsche has redirected owners back to the "Experts" at our Dealerships. Only for owners to be absolutely amazed at how little their dealership, or its designated "expert", actually know about the Taycan. I'm guessing you get to be the designated...

HomeLink programming problem - repeated signals

Yikes! Never heard of this before... (Homelink has some GUI user interface issues but I've never seen or heard of any "functional" issue like this...) You don't need an "expert" to configure Homelink at all. Just follow the instructions in the user manual. I believe that's what most folks...

Tesla recalls 158,000 Model S and X cars

The actual "joke" is that Tesla owners are getting their fix and Porsche owners are not. (i.e. 12V battery problem which renders the Taycan immobile on highways) Who, exactly, do we need to make that "request" of Porsche? I would much rather have a manufacturer suffer the embarassment of a...

Don Breaks His Taycan - The Saga of the 12v Battery

I agree... (and also appreciate the humor). Its not the size of the battery. You don't see it having a hard time trying to keep up with the demand. (You can watch this in the "Info" window on the console). Its fully fine until all of a sudden it isn't. The solution to this problem isn't...

PCM Radio - Last source when restarting the car works except... (Apple Music question)

@louv and I both documented a similar issue in another thread (you can search for it) where the PCM was timing out when trying to read all the files on a USB drive at start up. If you had more than about 3000 files, it would apparently time out (give up) and then revert to an unused station...

Important advice when fitting new wheel sets

No, this is not that. Its simply that these TPMS sensors don't require any codes to be set at all. (Their description on Amazon says specifically "No Programming Required"). I never went to TireRack and they never came to my car. No "labels" on the tires. Nothing. They just worked "right...
