A pretty stiff "Porsche tax"! Especially if someone buys their wheels from Porsche in the first place...
Just to be clear, many of us did not require any cloning, programming, etc. Just put our wheels on and changed the wheel selection in the PCM. Done.
Personally, I think all of the...
Its not nearly as complicated as you might like to wish it was. Move your foot back, if its not enough, just use the brake. (You were going to do that anyway, right?)
The car remembers the setting. Set it up however you want it (via the "Drive Mode" setting). You can set it differently for...
You might be on to something...
I don't work out at all and my lifestyle is pretty non-healthy. I find the seats pretty comfortable.
Have you considered making changes to your lifestyle?
This is all pretty embarrassing for Porsche. However, its apparently not embarrassing enough. You might be on to something...
Porsche has my long list of complaints about this car. They know I'm pretty vocal about the issues. They have even contacted my dealer about it. I'm pretty sure...
Did you read this whole thread?
- Your phone can not get Internet Access via the car's WiFi Hotspot.
- Your car can not connect to your home WiFi.
- Your car connects to the Internet via its onboard LTE 4G connection
- Your car will exchange data with the Porsche Servers (in the cloud) as...
I'm adding my experiences here because there has been another thread recently started which discusses TPMS issues as well...
I put my new Winter Wheels and Tires (Pirelli P-Zero Winter Elects) on my car myself several weeks ago. Tirerack shipped the pre-mounted wheels and tires directly to me...
What?
Something more than just selecting a different wheel size?
10-15 minutes is a loooooong time? What exactly did you have to do? What info did you have to provide? ...and where did you have to enter that?
All I had to do was change my wheel size. It took like 10 seconds. I didn't...
I don't believe this is true.
I put my new Winter Wheels and Tires (Pirelli P-Zero Winter Elects) on my car myself several weeks ago. Tirerack shipped the pre-mounted wheels and tires directly to me. TPMS sensors were pre-installed.
The only thing I had to do was change my wheel selection in...
I agree. ...and I think it may very well be the case that is this very forum which is leading the way in diagnosing the problem. We, ourselves, may actually be recording, analyzing, and theorizing on this issue more effectively than Porsche is doing.
I don't think anyone would argue that...
In all fairness, what we are talking about here is clearly an endemic issue which can effect ANY Taycan. This is not a unique isolated hardware failure that an individual dealer is unable to diagnose.
This is an issue that potentially effects all of us and Porsche seems completely unable to...
I agree completely. This is not an issue that your dealer is going to be able to resolve.
Here's a fun exercise. Take a fun fact... Something most every Taycan owner knows... Something pretty important and not too obscure... ...and ask that very same dealer a question to see if they know...
Auto manufacturers have been dealing with RFID key fobs for many, many years. This technology is in no way unique to EV's.
Its also fairly obvious that the most efficient way to build a software foundation for a new car is to re-use and modify existing software which has been used in other...
Personally, I don't have a problem with OTA updates being "installed" without my consent.
However, you don't want to be climbing into the car (and trying to drive it) as this is happening (as you can't). Telsa not only asks us if its OK to install the update "now", but also provides the...
I have several of those for my passport and phone when traveling internationally.
Do yourself a favor, put your phone inside the bag/pouch and then call it. See if you can hear it ring. Many of those bags don't work as advertised...
Its a shame anyone should have to do this (if it truly is...
Just checked, mine was turned "ON".
If memory serves, I think I did that a while back to enable software features to be remotely enabled/disabled/purchased via the portal.
Has anybody actually received an OTA software/firmware update? How do you know this? Did the car notify you of the update...
Has anyone actually received any OTA software/firmware updates from Porsche?
It was my understanding that none have been released (other than nav/map updates) and we have to take the car to a Porsche Dealer to get them....
