Tesla charge £9.99 (assume $9.99) for premium service, goes without saying it is more capable and reliable. Would be ok with me if Porsche charged about that much, but charging more than double for something less than half as good indicates to me they’ve got an elevated view of their brand and...
Fair point @W1NGE, I was thinking about Macan/Q5, Taycan/RS7 where the underlying platform is good but not special in the way the Taycan/etron platform is.
Porsche are pretty good at getting the best out of less specialised platforms, but I’m more attracted to the cars they develop ground up.
Not sure what political persuasion has to do with it, but this is a Porsche forum so …
Being into EVs generally and into the detail of Taycans shows me that JayEMM has made some progress but still gets stuff wrong and panders to EV haters. I guess it’s good for his subscriptions and likes.
Seems the Taycan is only a couple of inches lower, but to my eyes it looks much lower and more sporty and sexy (I sometimes park mine next to a Panamera and an RS6).
What a shame if this happens, losing its soul to be an Audi underneath would be end of the road for me.
You make fair points @RED! but for me a stock CT4 already has great handling with lovely ride quality, but upgrading its power to give it great performance makes it great overall. With a Turbo or GTS I’d leave it alone!
I would be careful with this. The wording of the warranty excludes HV battery wear and tear and Porsche have worded battery cell failures as cell ageing, not defect, hence my comment earlier about the uncertainty of the situation after 8 years.
Lovely looking car and great spec, looks expensive from a UK perspective, but I can’t comment on your market.
Whilst nobody expects these HV batteries to fail as soon as the 8yr battery warranty expires, we’ll be carrying more risk as the battery ages and there’s no certainty on what level of...
Nothing online as far as I can see. Seems that contracts and orders held directly with Porsche (e.g. Porsche Connect, Charging Service) are in the app/pcm but stuff taken via a Porsche dealer (e.g. Warranty, Servicing) is on their system and we get a email attachment and/or printed copy. It’s...
PCM software update last week because I reported the nav/charge related crashes. Only used nav for short journeys since and it hasn’t crashed, but this is different, it was crashing after a few minutes.

indeed, I replaced all round with Bosch recently, just answering the question about Porsche’s attitude, wouldn’t say they were bothered but it’s on the health check.
They’ll point out that the wiper blades aren’t genuine parts whenever the car goes in to them and suggest they replace them for £168 (that’s for all three, mine was in last week). Likely they’d only see the filter when they’re changing it.
Wouldn’t want to test the warranty if I turned up with...
Hey @Gru is it that strange? I have done this as a workaround myself, just keep the charge planner switched off and all is good, it is no longer getting overwhelmed by the stream of data about all the chargers.
Doubt they will replace the PCM, this appears to be clearer to more Porsche Centres now despite some of them having gone down that route already.
I picked mine up from my local centre today after the 12v campaign and 3885 update and they have been upfront that 3885 isn’t the fix for the charge...
Interesting pics of the battery repair bays! I’ve had a Cayenne e-hybrid for a week while they struggle with a fault triggered while doing other work on my Taycan. Agree with the e-hybrid comments, it’s practical and on smooth highways Im sure it’s a comfortable place to travel a long way...
I’m guessing that came from smart mobility?
If so only today my contact there “Shane” was asking me if he could close my reported problem regarding the PCM as he understood that the OPC had implemented the TI (3885). Oblivious that the car is still at the OPC. The lack of coordination is...
@laua agree on the i4 feels good (for me the 40 over the 50) but with the skateboard deck beneath you it is inevitably a little higher and the steering feel a bit numb to me.
With the i5 assume you didn’t drive a car with DHP as per @bluesky?
Watching a couple of YouTube reviews about the new BMWs, including an in depth by Kyle out of spec with some BMW engineers and they talk about optimising conventional suspension and not going down the active route in order to keep things simple and energy efficient. Interesting to see if that...
