Pay the deposit and say nothing and then hold your ground once the new car comes in (List price for GTS you spec less £100k offer for your trade in 4S) and don’t budge! (That would be my stance)
Best of luck as it sounds a great opportunity to get the 4S swapped out to the GTS in ST body style...
Totally correct … it’s been arguably an abuse of position by ESB although they hide behind the “we’ve only recently owned the network” but it’s not helped by an awkward process of planning and connection to the grid and the biggest joke is “free public charging” which is exploited by many taxi...
Maybe this adds more perspective to DC public charging that’s slowly becoming more available across N.Ireland …

Well, my quick view on this (not least as it’s a crazy day to stop to write on this cracker forum) is:
Very hard to get trade in value for extras added to any car - most especially luxury vehicle brands like Porsche. So residual on a GTS might be lots better than a loaded 4S.
I’ve a Taycan...
2.8 on Dec 2nd on 90min long cross country journey with regen “on” (not auto) …. But 2.2 on short trips of 10-15 miles.
All on my Turbo (2022 8000 mile)
Yea Racetex is really nice and I feel lowers risk of interior squeaks.
Rear wheel steer is very practical in town and I believe it helps with handling at speed too (?♂️)
I’d also go for 150DC charger - there seem to be a number of 100/150DC options opening up and I’ve often seen my rare...
8000 miles since mid Jan ‘22 on poor Northern Irish roads and rough enough Donegal roads and these are 100%.
I’d 20” rims on my first Taycan and they were a fraction quieter in terms of road noise and superb riding bumps and potholes compared to Mission E style which are “very good”. You do...
Under normal circumstances it means about 2wks or less for shipping and add another 7-10 days for actual shipping time, clearing the docks, receipt at dealership and ‘spit & polish’ fo arrange handover.
So roughly speaking 3-4 weeks until you can take delivery. (This carry on about batteries...
Brilliant news Paddy!
Two important points:
1. Don’t leave 2.3tonne on the grass too long or it’ll have Taycan dimples
And
2. Don’t forget to wave when you cruise past my plain old Crayon Turbo ?
Good health to enjoy!
Lads, i ordered a Taycan Turbo to replace my 4S mid Oct 2020 … it was due late July 21 and eventually arrived in the dealership late Dec 21. I collected it mid Jan 22 …and I’m still awaiting the 2nd key ?
Good man Paddy .. I’d predict 3 maybe 4 weeks eta.
Loving my crayon Turbo altho range remains a slight concern for Norn Iron driving compared to my prior 4S which was hugely suited to our typical type of journey. (that said 80-90% of driving is fine via home charging / short trips)
Keep us...
My experience for both my Taycan purchases is that you could get invited (date to collect the car) before it’s arrived at the dealership. Planning collection in anticipation of its arrival. That’s clearly a little unorthodox and carries a bit of risk - talk to your dealer as they readily accept...
worse still mine was for an order placed Oct 20 … original ordered car arrived 1 month early (Feb 21) but 1 item missing of agreed spec so slotted in to first dealer build and I’ve factory screen shots to show it started production in early July … then either air suspension supply (German...
This happened me last June mid production …. The car arrived into the UK around Xmas and I took delivery mid Jan 22 … (crayon turbo in my case) … well worth the wait mind you
I’m pretty happy with my wheels (had concerns about moving to 21” Mission E wheels … had 20” on my initial Taycan 4S ) …. Fraction firmer and more road noise but less roll … tend to drive on Sport suspension setting which I like (my dog hates it!)
