Sorry to hear this. Any idea what the issue(s) is/are?
Interesting to look at EV reliability compared to ICE. Lots of variables in this and sure that overall EV reliability will improve as ICE reliability has massively improved over many decades.....
Like Caraholic, I have a Turbo saloon 2023, 2000 miles on the clock. I get 210-220 miles doing 12 miles round trip to and from work and have no issues with the occasional longer journey for holidays. That's in Summer, no AC (hardly use it in Summer in the UK).
In winter, using AC, lights...
I had soft close doors on my last car, an S-class. I really don’t miss them at all so don’t understand the fuss about not having them.
The biggest issue was any passenger I gave a lift to, including my own family, didn’t even know that the car had soft close doors, or even what soft close...
This is from this mornings Sunday Times in the UK…Heavy depreciation is not really a Taycan specific issue. There is now a glut of used electric cars, as more manufacturers get on board and many more second hand electric cars compared to 5 years ago. The transition to electric is still a hard...
UK Sunlight is not so much an issue as in warmer areas, but summer sun can be penetrating. One reason I optioned the VLC roof.
Easily adjustable and keeps the sun out very well, worth the extra IMO.
If you think about this the other way round, how many Taycan owners have actually run out of charge and had to be recovered by the roadside?
From reading the forums, I'm guessing very close to zero? So why the panic about range especially as all cars depreciate?
Enjoy the car, its a hoot, I...
Taycans are ten a penny in my locality.
I fear that if I waved at them all, I would get cramp and my friends might wonder if I’d used my right hand for another activity…..
Just remember if you do use Range mode on the highway, which I do, when you get into a city with plenty of speed humps, make sure you change to Normal mode.
Ride height is lower in Range Mode, and you will scrape the underside if you’re not careful.
Yes correct. Ionity Magor. They have 6 chargers. Space for a further 6.
Plug and Charge worked perfectly for me. I’ve had similar issues as you at other Ionity stations but there is a helpline which has sorted charging issues out fairly promptly before. The charging infrastructure is still less...
Completely agree. Did my first longish trip from London to hotel in South Wales 2 weeks ago, 540 miles round trip, stopped once for 30 min each way at Ionity to charge to 100%. Felt terrible "middle class" guilt as I used the toilet at the Subway sandwich place on both legs...but didn't buy...
Yes, that was my interpretation from looking on the net as well, that in business to business transactions, CRA 2015 will still apply unless any contract excludes this...which it wouldn't unless specifically agreed.
Certainly didn't affect my refund at all, nor was it queried by Porsche...
I bought a Taycan 4S in February 2021, delivered November 2021. I was so excited, even in the cold weather, I didn't notice the heater wasn't working at all. This has since been an issue with many Taycan's, numerous threads on this from 2021-2022 (now mainly resolved with new heater being...
Yes I am sure you are correct in many respects and that is my view of the corporate world by and large too with many companies.
There are many customers like me, new to Porsche buying the Taycan however, so I think there will be a perhaps winking eye towards customer loyalty which in a...
Lots of comments and threads on this.
Bottom line
1. No certainty about when the release date will be but likely MY2025
2. External changes minor but probably will include revised headlight design (looks worse in my view than current) and minor rear light changes (barely visible)
3. New HD...
Different circumstances to you, but I could have opted for an EQS, having had an S class previously. The S class was just so easy to drive, relaxing, a sofa on wheels. I suspect the EQE will be similar. The Taycan demands more attention when driving, is much sharper but a lot more fun...
My first Porsche too, and such a different beast to my previous S class, no regrets at all, had to be electric and the EQS is too big. The Taycan oozes style.
As for the repair vs new debate, I am firmly on the side of the "get a new one" fence. Major repairs don't necessarily always translate...
Indeed, thanks for asking and sorry for the delayed response, arrived 4 weeks ago, minor niggles aside (tyre roar on 21’s is more than expected, but not really unexpected…if that makes any sense!), so far so good!
I remember Rowan Atkinson, Mr Bean fame and Aston Martin fan once saying he thought the best time to buy a car was 2-3 years after its started production to allow all the problems to be ironed out, then sell just before the next iteration (Mk 2 NOT facelift). I agree, and waiting for Mk 2 is...
Thanks for posting and hoping a true connoisseur buys the car. As you say, they have F.....d up the description. Lovely car...Gentian blue not Neptune, nor a Slate grey interior, otherwise very accurate!! At least they got the Porsche and Taycan right probably only coz you told them?
