At least in the US, ACC+PID when ordering the car includes ALK; but when getting the car with ACC and adding PID via FoD, it does not include ALK. With FoD, ALK is an additional product which can also be added.
Not at all a fan of the two-tone blackberry interior. Maybe there is some specific equipment combo that it works with, but I think it looks objectively awful as-is.
I do like frozen berry and (monochrome) blackberry, though. It's not for me, but I think it looks great.
Mine was on time as regards the initial delivery estimate (August 27, predicted on June 4). The car did spend a week and a half at port waiting for parts, but it entered production a week ahead of schedule and made it on the boat another week early. The last half-week I gave back getting PPF and...
The distortion on the individual cameras makes it impossible for me to gauge distance more than about a foot away. I rely almost entirely on the top-down view, which I absolutely love.
If I'd been coming from a car that had 360-view parking cameras, maybe I would feel differently. But as it is...
As far as I know, the only intrinsic difference between RWD and 4S is the smaller rear motor and lack of a front motor. Every other difference can be made up for with options. So if you are happy with having less power and no AWD, there's no reason to go to a 4S. Save the money, and spend it on...
It depends on a laundry list of conditions and stipulations, because it's the NEC, so of course it does. There are a lot of "wink-wink" ways around it anyway, and a friendly electrician might guide you toward them.
I realize you're not really disagreeing with me, but my take is that if you're...
The Tech Package is (or was, as of MY21) priced weirdly in the US. If you select ACC and HUD, upgrading to the Tech Package costs only $100 extra and also adds auto-park and the passenger display. Those latter two are features I would never have selected on their own, but for $100, they're worth...
Yeah, I touched 95 on a highway onramp today and I've only had the car for 3 days.
Cruise control helps with the torture. Without it, I find myself gaining speed on every downhill and never giving it back.
And parking lots. The car actually maneuvers so well in parking lots that it's messed me up. I expect to have to make all these hard turns to get in and out of tight spaces, but it's actually so easy that I keep overcooking it and having to do it again.
If you want more than 9.6kW in the US you must use a hardwired connection. 14-50 outlets are only rated to 50A, i.e. 40A continuous.
Per code, all electrical outlets in a garage must be GFCI-protected. GFCI breakers are not required for hardwired EVSEs.
If you want to charge multiple EVs on...
I had a heated steering wheel on my old 335i back in Georgia. I could also count on one hand the number of times I used it.
I now live in New Hampshire. The heated steering wheel was one of the first options I checked. Although, amusingly, doing so caused the wheel to disappear entirely from...
Very possible. My understanding is that in the US the dealer purchases the car when it leaves the (US) port. Until that point, it is still the property/responsibility of VWAG.
You should just be able to plug in your portable EVSE. RVs can and will draw a sustained 40A @240V (though they will do it as two separate 120V circuits) so the circuit should support an EV just as well.
But with that said, the electrical service at many campgrounds is dangerously substandard...
The dealer successfully talked me into paying them for PPF and ceramic, so I went there today but did not come back with the car. I did get to see it, though it was still covered in plastic from transport.
My car is missing the second key and wireless phone charger. Among the paperwork I signed...
Even though TYD was still saying as recently as noon that my car was still in Davisville, it did make it to the dealership sometime over the weekend. My first clue was getting an automated email this morning about linking the car to Porsche Connect. This afternoon I got a call from my salesman...
