If and when Porsche does an EV Boxster/Caymen, I'll be in line for that. We've had a couple of Tesla's and I would interested to see their cheaper offering that's rumored as my commuter. Otherwise not really interested in them anymore.
The Mercedes offerings are interesting, but the sedans...
I live in Texas which requires a front plate and have been rolling the dice for a decade. I thankfully live near the NM and Mexico border which doesn't require them so cops aren't on the lookout for this.
I will pay the fine rather than drill into the car. Thats said, there are some solid...
Beautiful.
Navigating those narrow Italian lakeside roads is a real gut check. I don't know if I would have the stones to do it in a Taycan.
A few years back I vacationed around Lake Como, and just getting to and from the Villa, I saw several cars have their side view mirrors knocked off...
Must be nice. Some of us have small kids that have to stop. That's when the video games are a lifesaver. Honestly, our EV trips aren't much different than with ICE cars because we have to stop a lot anyway.
Sure, but that honestly probably happened to them.
I live outside California in West Texas, and even to this day, with a Tesla Service Center a mile down the road from me, Tesla's still aren't crazy common and still get looks. Having a Model S for nearly 7 years (sold it last year), there...
I don't really think that's true, and even if it is, why is being a Tesla fan a bad thing? It's entirely possible to enjoy more than one car brand, we don't live in a world of absolutes.
That said, many posters here are current or former Tesla owners, so they can give a fairly objective...
In all fairness, on a Model 3, the screen is the information source for the entire vehicle. Maybe the toybox and games are a gimmick, but the amount of information and usefulness of the screen is stellar. Tesla has pretty much set the standard for infotainment screens in vehicles over the last...
Oh for sure. TBH until a company goes full EV and dedicates 100% of their R&D and production to EV's, Tesla is going to continue to have a huge leg up. At least now we have companies making more than just a single token mediocre EV model that dealers don't like selling, and we are seeing some...
Hmmm, not really, but I also don't think Tesla driver's are what you think they are. For the last decade, options for an EV are limited. People bought them because that's the only choice they had. Look how many folks here had Tesla's and converted to a Taycan because the option was available...
Weird, so if you own anything other than a Tesla, you didn't want it and just fell ass backwards into the car you're driving? Did the hypothetical Camry just show up to the drivers door, and they just shrugged their shoulders and said "whatever, okay I'll drive this".
Not sure what is so...
This. I wouldn't be surprised if the Model S and X eventually just fade away. Another possibility is Tesla creates a more premium division just like every other legacy car maker.
I think it's a pretty cool option IF you ever do drive on some gravel or dirt roads with frequency, but otherwise you are right. $30 bucks worth of plastic that cheapen the look of the car and for the majority of people, never gets used.
I think for some the novelty that it is only available...
For me it was probably the wheels and color combined. There were several wheel and color combos that I really liked and debated over, but eventually the CEO decided Cherry Metallic with then Taycan Turbo Design Wheels was her favorite combo on a CT4.
Pretty much how I feel. The siren song of a truffle brown interior sometimes calls, but it's so hard to justify the cost.
If you're not on a tight budget, go for the full leather. I typically build my car within a set budget, and I find the value of the full leather in most Porsche vehicles...
Couldn't agree with you more. I don't mind the shortcomings for a price point under 50k, and I feel like the superior technology makes up for the lack of refinement in the cabin. But at 100k, there's no excuse, and it's why I think premium sedans like the Mercedes EQS/E will do well.
Honestly...
You're dead on that a Porsche is more desirable.
Tesla generates hate because their CEO is ridiculous and divisive (though a genius), their dedicated fans are more hardcore than any other automotive brand (and super obnoxious), and the company itself has completely shaken up the automotive...
I mean, that depends on the forum. I could say the same thing in the affirmative of Tesla. There's lots of forums, groups, and subreddits where it's a big Tesla circlejerk. Just as there obviously is with Porsche.
I would expect a forum dedicated to Porsche and their EV, to have an overall...
