I have a Porsche Wall Charger Connect and a good 240V outlet within both mounted on an exterior wall of my garage. Anyone w/ successful experience housing a 3rd party charger in this enclosure? I'm thinking of switching from the Porsche charger given all it's issues.
Dave, I imagine you've posted this info. elsewhere but if you don't mind repeating ... what cable charging system did you switch to one you became aware of this problem?
Although the above link may work great for "recalls" it apparently does not capture all Porsche's voluntary replacement programs. Specifically, I was notified a couple of weeks ago by Porsche ([email protected]) that the company "has decided to replace the High Voltage Battery Heater (HV Heater)...
Here's a recent comparison of the Tesla Plaid with the new Taycan Turbo:

Great upgrade on Porsche's part! If a fully decked out RWD is going to cost $130K including dealer markup, it might make earlier versions a little more appealing to buyers with a budget. That might slow depreciation considerable. Hope so anyway.
From the other current threads it sounds like your car will be marketable at about $125-$130K after a couple of months and a couple of thousand miles. So if you're planning to upgrade in a couple of years, you hopefully have some significant disposable income that you don't have any other use...
This is a great reminder of why driving around with a minimal amount of power is asking for trouble. I was luckier than Lekfx but I had a close call much further than 3 miles from home. However, the main takeaway IMO is to carry a charger with, yes, 120v hookup capability. Then one can knock on...
Please see "page 8" of this topic for one option for creating a phone platform in the Taycan using Apple's official wireless charger. There are many other ideas out there for folks who are looking for such a thing. Here's one of the photos posted showing the Apple-compatible wireless charger in...
I didn't find that the wireless charger worked particularly well and when I tried to charged it (before the major upgrade) it seemed to get a bit hot. Also, betting I'd initially forget to take the phone with me 8 times out of 10 if it was hidden in the console department. I agree that it could...
I'd recommend Woodland Hills Porsche as they have something of a specialty interest in Taycans. They did a great job with the major software update last year on my '21 and were on top of other recalls. Service people are easy to work with.
I had a bad experience (mildly scratched steering...
If this were to go into effect for 2027 models one things for sure: there would be a LOT of 2026 cars sold in California ... and I'd be buying one of them. Secondly, what about cars bought in other states and moved to California? Can't believe this could come to pass, esp. on this timeframe.
I like the look of the IONIQ 6 ... reminiscent of a Citroen D21. Good specs. When the 3-year leases expire in a year or two, I may get that as a 2nd EV.
Impressed that folks can get by without using (or having) a back-up camera. I consider the capacity through the rear-view mirror to see exactly what's happening immediately behind the Taycan when backing up (think large or jagged object, pet or child) as being extremely limited.
Software upgrade?? I'd probably pay up for something which brought the image up to the level of a BMW, etc. I also cannot understand how Porsche could have released a backup camera/screen that is so lousy (and dangerous). One thing I did which helped a little bit was to put the backup screen on...
For those with access to the NYTimes, here's a link to a paid 'infomercial' that Porsche put out about the Taycan:

You might check in with Woodland Hills near L.A. as they have a large inventory of Taycans. Unlike when I purchased my '21, it's now a buyer's market. Good luck.
Had no idea this under-car washing system was available and at such a great price. Sure appreciate all the helpful suggestions.
Luckily the skunk 'dose' wasn't all that bad and after power washing wheel wells and leaving the windows down, etc. it seems that the car is OK.
I ran over a dead skunk last night and the car still reeks. I have a good power washer that I use for washing the Taycan. Works great. Q: Is it OK to use it on medium pressure on the underside of the car?
