Or one might say Congress doesn't want to continue public subsidies of millionaires' luxury toys. Certainly for widespread EV adoption a subsidy in the ballpark of the typical EV/ICE price difference right in the middle of the market is more important than paying for someone's Burmester sound...
Yes. I bought two cars eligible for the $7.5k credit recently (X5 45e and base Taycan), and it seems somewhat ridiculous to have those purchases subsidized by the general public. Being just as much a hypocrite as most everyone else, I'll still take the money...
New engines, new transmission, new interior design/infotainment on a newly developed platform (MSB) - the current Panamera couldn't be more different from its predecessor.
When was the last time you checked your garage?
Anyways, I'll continue to charge with whatever my charger provides (which is probably less than 7.2kW) until Porsche tells me not to, in which case I'll ask them to pay for upgrading the line to my garage.
I think it's important to take replies from the US with a grain of salt - here everything that doesn't look like a small house on wheels is unsuitable as family transport. For a family with 2 kids, there's more than enough legroom in the rear, small kids are not going to complain about the...
How often do you race other cars at stoplights? The response off the line for the RWD Taycan is a bit soft. Once moving there is plenty of power/acceleration (e.g., BMW M2, Audi S6/S8, Boxster S level, provided those cars in the right gear).
Belated Hi! After spending months configuring all manners of base Taycan, CT4s and 4s's I ended up buying a base Taycan off the lot a couple of weeks ago (3rd Porsche, 1st EV). Minimal spec (PB+, 20" wheels) and a color I hadn't really considered. So far not really missing all the options I had...
Porsche should have plenty of experience fixing fake alarm issues. I got used to double-clicking the lock button for my Macan, after the 2nd or 3rd time security at work had to track me down to take care of my Macan's alarm in the company parking garage.
Pretty - our cars are twins, it appears. I saw another cherry/Turbo Aero wheels Taycan near Sudbury, MA a few weeks ago. Seems to be a popular configuration, for good reason.
Thanks! When I called the SA they told me the tech's could show me how it's done if I bring the car in. I'll try the "feed it back into the hole slowly" method first.
Another set of data points: A Panamera 4s is a massive 1.1s faster 0-60mph than the RWD/PB+ Taycan, 0.8s faster to 100mph, but then 0.4s slower for 0-130mph. So the Taycan is much slower with the supposed 2.5s overboost using launch control, but then out-accelerates the Panamera from 100-130mph...
C&D posted test results for the RWD/PB+ Taycan online, and the results are quite confusing: 0-60mph in 4.7s (w/ 1ft rollout), 1/4 mile in 12.9s @ 115mph, 0-100mph in 10.3s and 0-130mph in 16.4s. I don't think there is any other car on the road right now with sub 6s 60-100mph and 6s 100-130mph...
Makes me less sad that my poverty spec base Taycan doesn't have Innodrive, lift, folding mirrors, pano roof etc etc. PCM did forget all my favorite dresses though :swear:
The car decided to emergency brake once, but there actually was a car in front of me - although I'm sure I wouldn't have run...
