I don't believe that it is ever done at no cost, quite the opposite, it is expensive for what they actually do. search around the list of what is done is posted in one of the threads
I can agree with your comments, but the EA network has deteriorated. the charging speeds delivered are low, the hardware has a high rate of failure and in some places the chargers are overwhelmed by the volume of cars trying to charge. an example of the problem for me was the last two stops on...
road tripping should be fun, however the diminished range on the taycan and the poor EA charging infrastructure turns what should be fun into an arduous experience.
I posted this on rennlist regarding a road trip that I've just returned from. and there was no user errors involved.
I just returned from an unscheduled trip from FL to NYC and the EA experience was tough at best. many of the 350 units were offline and some of the ones that were online were...
EA blows. They seem to have retarded their network. On an east coast trip and every unit is slow. The 350s are slower than the 150s when they actually work. Average speed on the 150s is about 50+ kw. What is going on with them?
I am on an unexpected road trip from Florida to nyc and the EA chargers are FUBAR. Slow speeds and units offline are the norm. What happened to EA? The best speed I got was 88kw on a 150 unit, the 350 units that did work were even slower
you should read the threads where this has been covered ad nauseam, the short answer is to charge to 100% when that extra range is needed and to not allow the car to remain at 100% for extended periods of time. the same holds true for allowing the car to sit at a low SOC of under 20%
other than tesla's network there aren't any siloed or proprietary networks that I am aware of.
they are all standardized.
In europe other EVs can access the tesla network.
my guess o meter reports around 220 miles @ 100% soc, however after driving around it will show 120+ at 50% SOC.
the moral is to know your car, your driving style and factor in climatic and road conditions to try to get a handle on what the range is that you'll get.
any one claiming that they...
you're correct, zermatt is a touristy town. but don't let that put you off. Zurich is a bit dull, getting out to a place like zermatt would be good for you.
in zermatt in summer there isn't that much to do other than hiking trips near the matterhorn. there is a train that goes up to a peak close by and you could trek back down to zermatt.
the ability to charge beyond the car's range is crucial to EVs being accepted as an alternative to ICE vehicles.
the charging process must be infallible, no if ands or excuses.
I have been in the situation where because of the flaw baked into the car I had a lot of issues getting the car to...
that is unusual, usually the fluid contains anti freeze that should prevent this from happening.
all that I can suggest is to get the car into a warmer place so it can thaw, then drain the reservoir and replace with new fluid.
