Thanks again.
Standard coolant ! Impressive..
How common are the 11kw OBC failures? I know about the 22kw ones being dreadful.
I take it the issue is similar?
Under specced components?
Have they fixed it?
Actually, yes; dielectric fluid is clever stuff. Many data centres now run submerged cooling 'computers'.
On a different topic, you don't happen to know how to get the arm cover off the Tourismo rear wiper arm by any chance?
That is good to know.
Thank you.
My problem is I do not believe in coincidence. In this case I shall just have to subscribe to the 'these things happen' school of thought. :CWL:
Phone call just now confirms the death of my OBC. Off road part order so hopefully Wednesday/Thursday return...
Sorry, meant to annotate. Black box is heater with insulating cover; silver box is OBC. The heater hose connectors are directly above the OBC connectors... 🤔
Thanks tooney, that is what my searching has suggested................ grrr. Nearly two years of trouble free thoroughly enjoyable motoring, now three things in a month.
Googled a lot and have found some information but looking for real world experience on here.
Two days after a heater replacement, I plugged in to recharge my battery.
The following morning my garage breakers have tripped and the requested charge has not quite achieved its target.
Breakers re-set...
Right tube set 12v battery status. 14+ its charging 13 its charged. Charges every time the car wakes up. IF you keep the keys close to the car (3 metres) it does not go to sleep and can act as a parasitic drain. A biscuit tin is your friend. (for the keys) or switch off keyless access.
Two positives
1 Got a Toasty Taycan back
2 Gave back a Macan 4 EV
Macan disappointing compared with my previous Macan 4S in all areas. The EV PCM lauded by some, was in no real way superior to my experience in my TCT. Minor pluses were the more programmable nature of 'the tubes'.
Other than...
