I'm curious, what is the upcharge for Bose? I think in the US it is standard equipment? I don't recall being given a choice. I am a big fan of Bose and have multiple Bose products, but the Taycan version is not going to blow you away.
I bought my first Porsche when I was in my 20's.
It was a beat up 914 that had a habit of overheating often.
From there I graduated to a demo version of 944 with 5000 miles, and from there graduated to a CPO 911S Cabriolet that just came off a lease and had 20,000 miles.
My point is...
Well at least I was able to withstand the pressure to pay for other bloated services, got 2% off MSRP and the tax credit. Cant win them all, and hey, I got the car!
Hmm, interesting use of the programmable button. I have one set to "next track" and the other controls my garage door since the HomeLink function is itself a pain in the rear. Need more programmable buttons!
Well after 4 months I finally got the Spotify integration working. But is it really? I am not sure it was worth the effort.
ALL I WANTED was to be able to say "Hey Porsche, play Spotify" so that I would not have to (1) hit Apple Car Play, then (2) Spotify, then (3) Play Liked Songs, then (4)...
I declined most of the extra services that the dealership pushed on me, but I did pay $1700 USD for the first service maintenance as it sounded like a good deal.
I assumed this would be done after my first year of ownership but the manual states no service until you hit 2 years or 20,000 miles...
So 4 months and 4 pages of posts later, I got the integration working. The guys at Porsche NA were very helpful and did something on their end (or in Germany) where I just had to delete and relink to Spotify. But as a couple others noted, its pretty slow and glitchy. I said "Hey Porsche, play...
Its an attractive car but not at all exotic. There are Ferraris, Lambourghinis, McLarens, 911 varieties etc out there that look far more exotic. If you believe you are getting excess attention then you are simply paranoid. Around my neighborhood, nobody cares. You shouldn't either. Enjoy...
Amen.
I similarly mean no disrespect to those owners that spent top dollar for the Taycan at the top of the food chain (I don't even know which one that is), but I've yet to see a situation where I need or could use more power than I have in the RWD; I don't drive on a track. I'd simply catch...
Update on my sad Spotify saga: Was contacted by PNA who sent me a list of activities to undertake while the "back office" is working through the issue on my behalf. The activities amounted to removing myself from the car, waiting 20 minutes, then adding myself back, and attempting to...
The car can be raised for inclines and the system will save the cords for when you return to the same spot (I think that is standard but I may be wrong). That in itself should prevent damage, although it requires you to remember to hit the "raise" button as you approach the hazard.
I keep the...
I contacted the call center, spoke to a couple people and they sent me an email asking that I return pics of the error as well as some other parts of the car (including the SOS button….hmmm…that's odd). Anyway they believe the issue can be repaired "on the back end" which is located in Germany...
Given the value and importance of this I think you should take it in - its super simple to activate (as described here). At the dealership ask an intake specialist in the service dept. to sit in your car and try it. They'll know if it needs service or not before you commit to lose your vehicle...
