Interesting… I feel the same way about the privacy glass. But since my budget requires me to go for existing inventory, I’ll probably end up with one.
Unless I go for the bare bones 4S…
Ok, big news: I just realized the base CT has the privacy screen on the rear windows whereas the 4S doesn't have it.
And I just really don't like the look with the privacy screen. This might actually tip the scale in favor of the 4S.
How vain...
My wife and kids would love the Pano roof... I'm already treating myself a ton by actually going for a Taycan in the first place, so going 4S instead of base CT would probably be adding insult to injury :)
Except it seems it does not apply as easily to the Taycan. Range seems to become an issue when power increases. Even though Porsche advertises a similar range fort the CT and the CT 4S, it seems it's not the case in real life....
Thanks for your detailed post.
I think you have a point on the whole safety thing. Having the crutch makes me less focussed.
I do tend to relax in stop & go and fully rely on the crutch.
I checked the spec on both cars and they both have "Warn- and Brake Assist". This definitely saved my ass...
Ok, so, after almost 3 pages of contributions (thanks for the help by the way, I wasn't expecting such a turnout), the pros of each car would be:
CT
Safer and more convenient daily (ACC)
More amenities (Pano Roof and Chrono thingy pack)
More carrying capacity (roof bars that can't be fitted...
Yup, I tend to use it a lot on my car as well. As soons as I get into traffic, I hit the button and chill.
It's really the only option I would miss on the 4S.
In the end, this whole conundrum can be summarized as : ACC or 1 second faster from 0 to 100kmh?
Cool. Thanks for the very detailed update.
I think the sales guy just brushed my question off without thinking much bout it. He should have, especially since it's an official Porsche Centre...
Thanks for your post, it helps a ton.
Both cars have the heat pump. That, along with 93.4 kwh...
Cool, thanks!
I use bars once a year, maybe I could live with the seasuckers (even though it sounds like an awful solution)...
4s back in the race then :-)
Damn, I do need to be able to extend the carrying capacity of the car... That may rule out the 4S then...
The sales guy told me I could fit aftermarket bars on a CT. Looks like that guy really wants me to buy him a car :)
Thanks for the feedback.
Do you really need the factory-fitted rails to fit a coffer on the roof? Aren't there holes in the roof to fit an aftermarket soltuion (like on most cars)?
Yup, that's what I'm afraid of.
I just got a speeding ticket of 276 EUR because I drove at 56 km/h in Brussels on a street on which the speed limit was 50 for decades but was changed to 30 last year.
Made me want to kill myself...
Damn, it's a toughie. I could really use the ACC, I do a lot of stop & go traffic but on the other hand, my current car is a bit faster than the base CT on the 0-100 and I'd rather not downgrade...
Other options of the base CT are nice to have (Pano roof and chrono pack)...
