  1. 19.2Kwh downgrade to 11Kwh

Interesting thread, recommended reading for those concerned! With the deal you got, I would have done exactly the same (90% refund of actual purchase price after almost two years of ownership) — but then immediately ordered a new Taycan GTS again :-).
  2. 19.2Kwh downgrade to 11Kwh

Thanks for your input. From what I have read about HVB charging, there is still a small gain to be made (in terms of prolonged battery life) by charging slower rather than faster, even though modern battery management technology has evolved to the point where the difference is no longer as big...
  3. 19.2Kwh downgrade to 11Kwh

My OBC broke a while ago as well, and I was told by my dealer that Porsche no longer offers the 22kW chargers, as there are too many issues with the only model available, so they downgrade to the 11kW charger instead, and then refunds the original cost (in my case I received SEK 17,400 (appr...
  4. Taycan production shutdown

I replaced my 2021 Cayman GTS 4.0 PDK with a 2023 Taycan GTS Sport Turismo and don’t regret it one bit. As I’m writing this, I’m actually at the track with it and am having great fun! :-)
  5. Part 3: The Quest for the Perfect Tune

I'd go for this solution as well — I have already made a switch once for a service visit, and since I don't do it myself (I visit a local shop for help), it takes both time and costs money every time I need to leave the car at the PC for service/upgrades/repair.
  6. Looking for advice. Can I go on vacation with fried OBC?

This happened to me too a while back — I suddenly discovered that my Charge Amps Dawn wall box "crashed" (blew the fuse) whenever I connected the HVB charging cable. I tried DC charging at my local Tesla station, and that worked just fine, but AC charging didn't work at my local Porsche Center...
  7. Οn board charger failure

My 11kW OBC died a while back, but it took me a couple of days to notice as I don't drive the car daily. I discovered that my Charge Amps Dawn charger box had shut down, and it turns out the circuit just cuts every time I plug the charge cable into the car... I tried the 270kW OBC at a Tesla...
  8. Porsche mulling Panamera and Taycan Merger

I think Porsche needs to rework their model lineup nomenclature, personally preferably as follows: 1) PPE ("EM" = Electric Motor; "Motor" as the ICE designation uses "Engine") – Macan EM (5-d only) – Cayenne EM (5-d only) – Taycan EM (Coupé*, Sedan and Turismo) *I think the Taycan should also...
  9. Recommendations for Porsche 20" winter rim to best match the 21" RS Spyder summer rim?

I did -- I forgot about this thread though :-) and posted a picture in this other thread: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/painted-21-rs-spyder-wheels.31741/post-487805
  10. WST2 OTA update

I'm in Sweden and I got the message yesterday. I tried do install but failed—my HV battery was initially at 83% and the installation process froze, and then automatically rebooted; when I got the message next time, my battery was then at 80% and the install button was grey... I've now charged to...
  11. Painted 21" RS Spyder wheels

...and here are my new winter wheels as well: Porsche Tequipment 20", also custom repainted in Satin Platinum (Porsche color code OB5) with Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 SUV tyres (I think the indoor lighting makes them look a bit brighter than they do outside):
  12. My Battery SoH after 2.5 years… 92%

I bought my 2023 GTS ST used when it was 1,5 years old and at 22K km (~14K miles), and the SoH when tested then was at 95%. I've now had it for another 1,5 years (i.e. car's age currently 3 years), and it's at 29K km (~18K miles). I haven't run any new SoH test since then, but I will try to soon...
  13. Painted 21" RS Spyder wheels

I went the other way—had them in Satin Black but then had them repainted in Satin Platinum (OB5) instead...
  14. FS: J1.1 Tyre Sensors (TPMS)

I might be interested—I've just bought a used set of Tequipment 20" winter wheels and had them repainted in Satin Platinum, but the tyre shop told me that the sensors had rusted stuck and had to be broken off; fortunately though, they have a used set lying around somewhere that I could get for...
  15. Redshift vs MapEV

I have the MapEV tune on my 2023 GTS ST and can absolutely recommend it. Another parameter if you're in Europe, apart from the technical and pricing aspects, is how keen you are to purchase from the US right now—speaking for myself I try to "vote with my wallet" and thus currently avoid US...
  16. GTS, Turbo, Turbo S acceleration

I have a 2014 RS6 with an APR tune @ 690 PS / 990 Nm, and a 2023 GTS Sport Turismo with a MAPEV tune @ 800 PS / 910 NM. Both are very fast cars, but for me personally even these are not fast enough to provide any lasting adrenaline shock (in terms of instant blinding acceleration; on the track...
  17. Any input on using "SUV" marked Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 (instead of "NF0"/"NF1" marked)?

Thanks everyone for positive feedback—sounds like it won't be an issue with the generic "SUV" marked PA5's then, although specific NFx's would have been the preferred choice. I'm having the silver 20" Tequipment rims repainted in satin platinum right now (just like I did with the satin black...
  18. Any input on using "SUV" marked Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 (instead of "NF0"/"NF1" marked)?

I just bought a set of used 20" Tequipment rims with used Pilot Alpin 5 tires on them (as winter wheels), but instead of the Porsche specific "NF0" (or "NF1") marking these tires are marked "SUV" (i.e. generic, not Porsche specific). Is there anyone out there that has any experience from driving...
  19. Latest Taycan Video Review: By CAR Magazine - "this is the most versatile Porsche ever"

Myself I went from a Cayman GTS 4.0 PDK (470 PS via APR) to a Taycan GTS Sport Turismo (800 PS via MAPEV), and even though I loved the Cayman I wouldn't go back. I also have an RS6 Avant (690 PS via APR), but I have now got a set of winter wheels for the Taycan to try and drive it a bit in the...
