I don't charge at DCFC stations all that often, but I've hit 300+kw at multiple different EA chargers before (the J1.2 really can do that).
But MB opened a charger in New Haven and yeah, why would I go to the 4-slot EA charger when the 10-slot MB is right there? Since that's my most common...
I too am a long-time Valentine One fan. I don't think anyone has mentioned the Android-only JBV1 app yet. That really transforms a V1 into something more powerful, with crowd-sourced warnings, speed camera databases, and a bunch of other stuff. There's also V1Driver, which is available for Apple...
I don't think it's right-hand drive weirdness - it's because the doors are set up so that only one can be open at a time. A bad sensor on either side can cause the other door not to be able to open, and the car doesn't do a good job of reporting what the sensors are actually telling it. I would...
I had this problem for several months, starting when my car was new. I read all the forum postings I could find about it while it was going on, and I don't remember finding any where this problem was fixed by any software updates. Eventually after several visits and a lot of loaner-Macan...
Sigh. Porsche and their software. This is what I get in the new version of the app:
I'm sure this will get quietly fixed behind the scenes at some point. It worked before.
I did not mean to imply that it was the update of the PCM itself to version 4360 that reduced the charging speed. It's a convenient shorthand I was using to describe a larger update, since the PCM version is one of the few version numbers we have access to.
But in fact the big update I...
That is puzzling. After @ct14garage's thread about the flaw in the 22 KW OBC, I've been of the opinion that the 11 KW OBC must suffer from a similar design flaw, and that's why Porsche have wanted to derate it.
It would be interesting to know which version of the control software we're actually...
A ChargePoint Flex hardwired on a 60A breaker. It logs charges, which was handy when I started noticing the reduced charge rate and then wondered if I had been imagining things before the update. It also happily charges our other EV (Kia EV6) at 11KW to this day.
Here's an example from 2024 (I...
My J1.2 also charged at 48A/10.6KW when it was new. The major update that brought the PCM version to 4360 also reduced the maximum A/C charging speed to 40A/9.6KW. (That update was done at the dealer, not OTA). As others have mentioned, dealers either have no information or aren't allowed to...
There are some good videos on removing Taycan door panels. Here's one I found helpful. Most of them gloss over the exact locations of the two Torx bolts you have to remove. They're both T20s if I remember right. Here's another video that shows their locations more clearly. One thing they don't...
The last time I visited the dealer I got this:
As a cappuccino, it was so-so. As a Taycan, I dunno, one corner and it was all over the road. I did finish it before it depreciated though.
I found one more picture, from when I did the other door a couple of weeks later. This one shows the gray fiber mat that you'll find inside the door card. I reinstalled this after attaching the CLD squares. There's room for more of this kind of material, but it was back-ordered when I did this...
Happy to. I also just realized that I forgot to mention one of the things I did. There's another TSB that describes how to handle noise from the Bose midrange driver by adding a trio of 1mm washers. This moves the driver 1mm further back from the grille in the door card, and prevents (hopefully)...
I had rattles in both front doors with music playing since the car was new. It drove me nuts too. I think I had the car in to the dealer 3 times about this. The first time was a bust, they couldn't reproduce it. The second time I dropped off the car with a track queued up that caused...
I may have been watching too many car videos on YouTube in recent weeks, because today this one popped up unasked.
In short, they've got a Taycan with a burned-out inverter, then things escalate.
I couldn't refuse a chance to watch someone take apart the rear motor assembly. It's just...
This still exists on the J1.2, and the setting persists through power-offs. The car won't let you turn it on or off unless you're in park though, which is a really odd choice given how distracted you can get interacting with the PCM in other ways. But for whatever reason this toggle was too...
They definitely exist - my 25 4s has the aluminum roof. But I'm not sure if I've seen another one, and a quick check on my dealer's website shows only 4 Taycans available, and all have the glass.
Good luck with your search!
The fronts are dated 4723 and 4923; the rears are both 0924. Also, I dropped the price in hopes they can find a home and I can have the space back in my garage.
