My MY2025 came with the ProContact RX and I think they’re fine (nearly 10K miles on them so far) though I don’t have anything to compare them too. I’ve never driven them in the snow but have in the cold and wet and, again, seem fine.
But the thing I want most to respond to in your original post...
Thx for the replies. I have been looking at the gauge and thinking that ”battery is prepared for charging” meant that the temp would be in that 3 o’clock range before I plugged in, but it wasn’t—quite a bit lower. But, if it is working as designed, maybe the idea is that it knows it will get...
So, is what I have experienced in my J1.2 what you’d expect? I’d assume that “Battery Prepared for Charging” would indicate the battery warmed BEFORE getting to the charging station, yet I was still showing 40F when I plugged in. Similar to other times when the battery temp was below the...
I’ve noticed in several short road trips recently that when I navigate to a public charger and the battery temp is quite low (it was 40F in the most recent trip I’m referencing) that shortly after I started the navigation the battery status will say “Battery Prepared for Charging” yet the temp...
As far as I can tell, no. I just looked and the only thing I have checked is "Other" in the PCM Navigation settings where there is the long list of different vendor's charging stations like Chargepoint, EA, etc. It doesn't even have an entry in the list for Tesla Superchargers.
When on the road...
I don’t get why plug-n-charge isn’t working on Tesla Superchargers for you guys? It’s worked for me (yes, it was a surprise, initially…) for several months in Oregon and California.
an update on this while still fresh in my mind: Yesterday I drove down Hwy 74 in S. California and made sure to keep track of %SoC: it went from 35% to 39%; and miles range estimate 119 to 165. The elevation drop was over 4,000 feet in approximately 15 miles.
I went to order via the Amazon link you included then notice the very mixed reviews (some very positive for sure...) but with one saying "Def does not fit Taycan models." Any thoughts? thx
My experience has been excellent with Tesla Superchargers, but, overall, good with EA too. I just drove from the PNW down to SoCal and probably used EA 60% of the time (without issue) and Tesla Superchargers the rest. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the Tesla Superchargers plug-and-charge for...
