22KW OBC FAILURE INSIGHT & POSSIBLE SOLUTION

There is a post here from a guy in your situation last year - he paid for the repair in early 2025, then recovered the cost months later upon notifying the dealer about the warranty extension. Should apply to you as I see it.

    Snail mode

I had this - very similar - twice last year, but without the turtle simbol. Once it was 36C outside and the battery temp was 38C. A week later it was 25C outside and the battery temp was 20C. I can confirm it was 'vibrating' in the sense that when pressing the accelerator, it would only get...

    Changing only two tires

From the Taycan user manual: - allow no more than 30% thread depth diff on the same axle - always switch both tires on the same axle - handling behavior will be affected after changing tires on one axle only, don't be surprised by it

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Here you go, this is what I just got: >>> I hope this message finds you well. I am very pleased to come back to you with an important update and a solution that has just been released by our technical department. They have advised that a WTG1 campaign has been launched, which involves the...

    Taycan Service Interval?

Yeah, I figured - good thing I'm going in this week. The mobile app says service is due 'NOW' - this is probably right as you said. PCM says it was due in Jan 2025 - obviously wrong. The service advisor says next month is fine. One would expect they'd know better for 300,- EUR per hour ;)

    Taycan Service Interval?

Interesting - I was worried I will slightly exceed the 30.000 km service limit by the 4 year mark next month. Asked the Porsche center and they confirmed in writing that the only requirement for the Taycan is servicing every 2 years, period. Goes against everything I read online and there's...

    22KW OBC downgrade compensation

@daveo4EV - sorry, just realised one can't see the results without voting and changed that - you should be able to view them now. I also just changed my vote and added a new option - just got confirmation I will be getting the price of the option returned. It's not 2x the option cost like...

    22KW OBC downgrade compensation

Just about to pick this up with Porsche again as it's been 4 months and no resolution so far. Any new votes / vote changes would be appreciated - if you've got sorted in the mean while - thanks!

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Just tested @Gru ‘s workaround on a 600km trip - works as described, with some caveats. Started with charge planning on, the thing crashed like crazy. I preloaded the route plan from the Porsche app, turned charge planning off in the PCM. It works rather well, however, if you drive more...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

This needs to be confirmed by multiple people. But I mean if this really works consistently, you have just singlehandedly found the first proper workaround for a problem that Porsche just ignores - fixing this in 6mo+ effectively means ignoring it in this day and age. If I read this correctly...

How good is your Taycan at winter?

My take on this is that this is simply Porsche being Porsche when it comes to software - they just lag behind. I have Continental 21" NF0 wintertires on my J1.1, passed the Approved inspection with them on - guess that confirms twice that they are fine.

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

That design with the phone under the armrest, let's just hope they change it in the next iteration - it is a bit of an abomination. I'll test drive one with PAR at some point - that might convince me though. That and a Porsche service center closer than 400km, right now visiting them is like...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Both in Romania and Hungary - they do add them but they are usually like 6 months behind - often a nice new Ionity charger will get missed if you don't crosscheck with another maps software.

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

So, I just did a 600km road trip today. I thank the goddess of maps - nav only failed for a short section - bloody distracting as it happened on the leg of the trip where I was to reach the next charger with only 6% battery. Just when it happened I was passing the Debrecen BMW factory and I...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Fair point @ferdiaz - every product / car will have its issues, subjectively the Taycan has a couple more. Makes me think of the first 'Porsche' I owned - navigation was a matter of looking out the window and worked every time:

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Agreed on complexity of the software being hard to judge from the outside - if it were easy, they would fix it fast. In terms of this not being a priority, I don't think so. The Taycan is a clusterf*ck for Porsche image as a premium brand and I bet they are trying hard to mitigate, just not...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

That's right. While we start getting some more chargers installed here, it's not like they flood my map. Proves nothing though, the software could unnecesarily load all of Europe's resources etc. I do software and I've written worse than that on occasion. @prj 's explanation makes sense to me -...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Just got in touch Smartmobility@Porsche to log my complaint about this. They asked for pictures of it.. and the damn thing did not crash for a full day! Until just now, crashed 5 times in 10 minutes. I will drive across 3 countries on a ski trip this weekend - this will be interesting. I...

GTS Ride Quality with or without Active Ride

Detail question - does the PDCC on J1.1 sort out the side-to-side uneven road bumps - by decoupling the ARBs? It is the one thing that annoys me on mine, granted I also have 21" but you imply 20"s won't change that?
