They all are. 😬
Actually, Audi eTron GT is a rebadged Porsche. Audi techs use Porsche diagnostics software to eTron GT, just like Porsche tech use Audi diagnostics software for Macan EV.

Is anyone else having to wait months for the installation of the 11kW OBC? My car went in yesterday after three weeks of no AC charging capability, and as expected I was handed a letter saying the fix is the 11kW, and the 22kW will not be retroffited at a later date.

After challenging them on the materially downgraded charging capability, they advised there would be compensation, of around £1200 (which I believe is circa the original option cost).

My biggest concern is that they have no idea when the 11kW will be available for install, and advised it could be several months. So several months of DC charging costs is hard to stomach, for what is essentially a warranty repair for their dodgy equipment.

I have written to Porsche GB this morning expressing my concerns and have asked if they will provide any interim contribution towards increased running costs...

This is a myth. Audi tech uses ODIS to diagnose E-Tron. And Porsche tech still uses PIWIS to diagnose Macan EV lmao... where'd you hear this?

I talked with a technician at my Porsche dealer who fixed my Taycan's last time - he was complaining how he has to use Audi software instead of PIWIS to diagnose and update Macan EVs. He also mentioned he was told Audi has to do the reverse for eTron GT.

He was pulling your leg lmao?

PIWIS completely supports Macan and you can do everything with it. Not to mention that ODIS in Macan EV would be good only for reading fault codes and deleting them. Coding flashing and anything which involves FAZIT server use would fail, given that Audi's FAZIT server won't authenticate Porsche's parts and vice versa.

The same applies to Audi

This is the second time, first time was almost 2 years / 25K km ago.

Fun fact, 2 years ago car was 2 or 3 weeks out of warranty when the OBC died, had to pay a little over €800 + VAT for work to replace the 22kw, and a very small portion of the actual part ... at that time the 22kw didn't have extended warranty yet, according to porsche there were absolutely no problems known with it and it was goodwill that only the work had to be paid and a little bit for the part as it was barely out of warranty.

Maybe that's why it's taking them so long to come up with compensation as that's now also part of it.
There is a post here from a guy in your situation last year - he paid for the repair in early 2025, then recovered the cost months later upon notifying the dealer about the warranty extension. Should apply to you as I see it.

It didn’t seem like it. He’s one of the two techs who work on EVs. This came up in a conversation about Porche EV reliability, he was just commenting how he prefers to work on the Taycan because he doesn’t have to use Audi diagnostic software for it.

Maybe next time I visit there I can ask to see the software in action.

My 22kw OBC has just gone! Tripped the breaker on the EVSE last night, and now I have the 'Electrical System Fault' message and the car won't move.

OPC has said (without even looking at the car), that its certainly the OBC and that they will have to replace it with a 11kW one. They said I'd get a credit back for the option cost, plus £1,500.

This happened two days after my glass roof cracked.

I've honestly had such a torrid time - car has been back to OPC over 30 times in the 2.5 years of ownership. I am so frustrated and disappointed.

Currently waiting for recovery.

Amusingly, this is the list of alerts currently showing on the PCM:
  1. Automatic light control fault
  2. Intersection Assist not available
  3. TPM fault
  4. Rear Cross Traffic Alert not available
  5. E-Sound fault
  6. WBA restricted
  7. Cruise control: fault
  8. Chassis failure (this is a red one, now also showing on the dash!)
  9. Power steering restricted
  10. Differential lock failure
  11. Electrical system fault
  12. Vehicle lighting fault
  13. Pedestrian protection system fault
  14. Brake cooling failure
  15. All-wheel system failure
😮💨

The 12v has died now too. So completely dead. AA managed to bring it back to life for a moment, so we could open frunk and window. It drain his booster battery in a couple of minutes though. He left me waiting for a flatbed to take it to OPC. Now just been told the ‘specialist equipment’ won’t be available until Monday! I reminded them the windows are open and it’s totally unresponsive. So they are having to send a patrol over just to boost it so we can lock it. But then we won’t easily be getting back in.
What a nightmare.

Don't agree to just compensation and downgrade to 11kW!

If it helps, mine recently had its 22kw OBC go to the great race track in the sky as well. My 12v also died during the tow and was left dead while they waited for the OBC parts at the dealership, per the tech notes it only went down to 20% SOC and is fine now. The car has been lightly driven for the 3 weeks since the OBC replacement and the 12v is holding up just fine. No app issues.

Seems scary in the moment when it drains for sure.

11KW. No choice offered with the 22kw. But I wouldn't want it with the failure rate.
Some say there is a new version from a new supplier as I read on other forums. Cannot confirm, just read, but seems legit. Anyone else heard this?
Apparently 10 units hit the UK. Perhaps others to the USA?
