Well everyone I am finally a happy camper. I replaced the the CC2 tires with Pilot Sport 4 and then had them reduce the air pressure to 35 front, 33 rear PSI per the partial load advice in the online owner's manual. Immediately I could tell a difference in handling. Pity the warranty is for...
Wow a lot of convos since I posted this. Nobody "tired" of this subject?
I went ahead and got the psi down to 33 front, 32 rear as per the specs in the online owners manual for my MY and partial load. I have to say it IS better, not bouncing around as much as before, but I am still not loving...
Crazy in that the post above yours is @ 50psi. "Bouncing all over" perfectly describes my experience up to now. I haven't taken the car out yet with the 33/32 mix but I'll be interested to see how that feels. FWIW I don't think all dealerships have the best info on this car.
So that was an interesting exercise and thanks for sharing it. I went to MyPorsche to find Owners Manual for my model and to my shock it recommends 33 psi front and 32 rear for partial load! That's about 5 psi below what the tire company put in. Then I went to TPMS to see what it recommended...
I had considered the tire pressure to be the issue, but if I let out air in order to improve the ride and grip, what does that do to the ultimate wear and tear on the tire? I am a ignoramus on these issues.
It's very interesting to see how many ppl like this tire on a non-Taycan. I am still hating the ride. It sucks all the enjoyment out of driving the car. I am having them replaced with PS 4S.
I can see how they might work on an SUV.
If you are following my other tire-related posts you are probably "tired" of me by now.
But I am having trouble finding tires in stock at my local shop that are a good fit for the car.
So I asked ChatGPT "what's the best tire for ..." and it recommends Bridgestone Turanza EV right before the...
So I found the "jack mode" (thanks for that) and the box wasn't checked. And I don't think they would have known to look for it. I'll ask the manager. Thx
I found this tire here in SD - summer variant - and am considering to put them on and to remove the Michelin CC2 tires I put on the other day. It seems a lot of ppl are looking for this tire but few have had them on the car for long. Is it a good fit for the Taycan? I am also looking at the...
thanks - maybe I'll go back in tmrw. The shop told me they could do an alignment then backed out once they learned I had an EV, but to their credit they backed out the price of an alignment at Pep Boys which I've scheduled for day after tmrw.
Just drove off with these and yes, I prioritized life of tire over performance as I am not an aggressive driver. But first, I felt like I am the bus driver b/c the car rides high even though I have chassis set to "lower." Then I get on the highway and woah! The car feels like it wants to bank...
Is t
@cbaray did you get your tires aligned? Where did you go? I usually purchase from Discount Tire here in San Diego but they don't do alignments on Porsche. TIA
The two big players out here are Discount Tire and PepBoys and neither are suggesting those tires for my car...of course that doesnt mean they don't sell them. They are recommending Continental and Michelin.
Couldn't find opinions on the forum re this, it seems all about PS4.
The CrossClimate2 has tons of 5 star reviews on Discount Tire site and, as I am not an aggressive driver and have the base model, the CC2 caught my eye. But I know Discount Tire doesnt know what car I am driving, they are just...
I have the PS4 on my car and they are a good product. But I am looking at the CrossClimate2 as it has an insane number of 5 star reviews on Discount Tire, and they are a bit cheaper. I have the base model, I am not an aggressive driver, and I live in SoCal so don't have weather extremes. Any...
