I'm 15 months with a Taycan and a first time Porsche buyer. The question I keep asking myself is something along the lines of, while the car is luscious to look at and wonderful to drive, can I live with the very long list of irritations (CarPlay) and imperfections? I thought I could, but I...
Received recall letter. Phoned to book my car in, no hoses available, don't know when they'll have any, will call me when they do. Pressing things a little more, do you think it will be 30, 60, 90 or 120 days or sometime next year? At this stage cannot provide an estimate.
@OzzieT :
Thank you for your reaction! What do you mean exactly with:
Can you give me an example?
- could not get phone book to sync with the PCM (email addresses only): solved with Apple CarPlay
- my SSD drive of music which formatted perfectly in the BMW is just painful to use (every start...
@BullitX I moved from long term BMW ownership to the Taycan. The on board tech and some of the finer things will disappoint you. But it next generation to drive. So you have to be able to live with that trade off. As a car for your Dad, buy an X3, the Taycan is not an easy car to get in and...

Evie Charging, Paralowie Shopping Village, 9 Liberator Dr, Paralowie has two 350kw chargers. This is $0.73/kwh on the Evie app.
Next fastest is RAA Charging, Brighton Rd, Glenelg at 150kw. This is free or 100% discount for Taycan's on the Chargefox app.
My prediction is you will get...
@DerekS that is amazing charging speed. A record on this forum possibly as well? That sort of performance appears to be a distant dream in Australia, outside of the Tesla network (which is still mostly locked for Tesla).
Hi mate. From my experience in Australia a 350kw level 3 charger will typically deliver 100-125 kw to the car up to about 80-85% before it drops to about 80-90kw. I did manage to get 137kw into the car at the NRMA charger at Zetland (Sydney)which was a 350kw charger but that only lasted for...
@Clive that is very serious and scary. I recently submitted an online booking to my dealer for the one year service check. As part of that I was asked if I had any issues and I said that my brakes were rubbish - that is spongy and unresponsive especially at low speeds. I was called my dealer...
Without repeating everything that has been written, I too agonised over these two colours and in the end went with Dolomite. When I have described it as silver, many people have said to me "that's not silver". I find this mostly when the car is indoors or wet from rain as it does look...
@Rango when I took delivery of my new car last July I installed a 3-phase Smappee Charger with solar integration. Loved the look of the charger and integration with my home solar. After 3 weeks of trying, including a replacement Smappee charger, we just could not get the Smappee to work...
Extraordinary. US$16K = AUD$25K. 10-12% of the purchase price for your average new Taycan here. Glad you got your car back @DerekS noting the less then perfect condition.
@DerekS what a saga. No glass roof for me simply because there’s not a lot left on top of the head anymore and I just don’t like the noggin in the Aussie sun even with insulated glass in between. Chips to the front of the car and windows are a fact of life here especially outside the cities...
