  1. Reverse Camera

after the recall update was performed, I started occasionally getting this when in reverse. Not helpful
  2. How to reset error messages ?

For completeness of the record, the mapev.net software will not reset "service required" warnings, nor will a basic ODB 2 scanner. icar POR will not work, per the vendor. The only way to do it is the PIWIS, which is very expensive indeed, if you can even get an account. This is quite the Porsche...
  3. How to reset error messages ?

has anyone used the mapev.net software to reset the "service required" message?
  4. How to reset error messages ?

Can anyone vouch for any other ODB tool? I tried a $30 general one, and no dice.
  5. Update: the recall completed all brake and hose servicing.

I had the brake recall, and my SA said at the time that I didn't need the brake flush as a result of the recall. Now, they say I need the 20K service ($1,100) and that they will not turn off the "service required" warning without doing the work. I have asked what really needs to be done, and no...
  6. Buy now or wait for next-generation car?

I agree completely. It is a major convenience to hop into an 85% charged, pre heat/cool car each morning. I would not own an EV without it.
  7. Buy now or wait for next-generation car?

The J 1.1 and 1.2 have quite a lot of quirks, mostly software. All manner of weird things happen to mine from time to time and then go back to normal. This is way more of a problem than my prior Cayenne and Macan that I used to own. I'd hope that a J 2.1 would bring the Taycan up to Porsche's...
  8. Porsche subscription services are a joke

$26.49/mo. for unreliable service is a bit of a slap to the face. I kind of need route planning in the winter, but I will let the subscription go in the summer. Also, for that much money, I should get Tesla plug and charge, I think. This subscription level, in other contexts, comes with regular...
  9. Sirius XM radio issue

Regarding the " your Sirius XM subscription has been updated " error, I have been experiencing this since I bought the car - 3 years ago. I recently got my dealer/service center to fix this issue, and the fix appears to be rather complex. Here is the text of what they reported. "23008 Started...
  10. Apple CarKey and Carplay Ultra

A September 9 announcement date fits with: 1. the annual Apple phone release event (September 9), and 2. that Taycans can access the Tesla supercharger network starting September 9. So, this is a promising rumor.
  11. Noise on Call - Only CarPlay and Only When Moving

I went ahead and took the car in for this issue. They are replacing the "overhead console", which I presume contains a radio repeater. So, FYI to anyone having the same issue.
  12. Looking to buy a CPO Taycan 4S in the future. What are your Must-Have Specs?

IMO, 400V DC is a must. I wish I had gotten Sport Chrono in my 4S. There is a noticeable lag on acceleration in normal mode before the downshift. I wrongly assumed that SC did not do as much with an EV than with an ICE car.
  13. NHTSA closed its formal investigation of LGES HV Battery Failures - Jan. 7, 2025

It is curious to me that the lawyers did not sue LG. As a general rule, one should sue as many people as possible. Further, I would want to be able to issue discovery to LG and depose their employees. Seems like a serious legal error if Porsche NA's motion is accurately reported.
  14. 25% Tariffs Impact - Will it change your decision to buy a Porsche?

DJT's stated objective is to move car manufacturing to the US. Niche autos (like Taycans, I'm sorry to report) are quite unlikely to ever be built in the US, IMO. Porsche might someday make Macans (ICE) in the US, but I suspect the volume of Taycan sales would never justify a US factory. Without...
  15. Lost connection to Porsche server - been told I need an upgrade to the E sim.....

Given the depreciation, upgrading from a J1.1 to a J1.2 would be particularly painful and unjustifiable money-wise. I would need an entire new generation of battery technology with a significant improvement in reliability, weight, range, lifespan, and charge rate.
  16. Any update to when we will be able to use Tesla network?

It may be unfashionable to say, but the past six months has shown for me improved EA reliability. Still low charging rates in some rural areas of Colorado, but I suspect this might be the fault of the feeder to the chargers. As far as plug and charge, things are pretty reliable for me.
  17. Lost connection to Porsche server - been told I need an upgrade to the E sim.....

Porsche's software is comparable to their owners' manuals. Another OP posits that Porsche's greatest feature is making the world's best ICEs, and if EVs are indeed the future, that is a big problem for them. In this case, software is important - kind of sad, but it makes sense.
  18. Lost connection to Porsche server - been told I need an upgrade to the E sim.....

Porsche NA's response (kind of implies that they knew they had fixed it): Dear Mr. Watson, If concerns have continued to persist with remote access, please verify network connection in your Taycan. Power on and look in the top right corner of your PCM, verify "LTE" is shown. If "LTE" is not...
  19. Lost connection to Porsche server - been told I need an upgrade to the E sim.....

Yes. Patience. My system is back online just now, although Porsche NA has not yet responded to my request for help. [insert software by Microsoft joke/]
