Porsche's software is comparable to their owners' manuals.
Another OP posits that Porsche's greatest feature is making the world's best ICEs, and if EVs are indeed the future, that is a big problem for them. In this case, software is important - kind of sad, but it makes sense.

Ok guys It looks like I solved it as last time so for me this worked twice (don t know why it does, but it turned out to solve the issue for me): I checked the PCM and actually instead of the LTE sign I had the two arrows pointing opposite; I clicked on the arrows and, after a few seconds, LTE came back. A couple of minutes later the app was updating normally. I am pretty sure this is not always the case, but for me it worked

Given the depreciation, upgrading from a J1.1 to a J1.2 would be particularly painful and unjustifiable money-wise. I would need an entire new generation of battery technology with a significant improvement in reliability, weight, range, lifespan, and charge rate.

Just logging here that my 23 RWD lost its data connection (showing opposite aroows instead of LTE in PCM) on August 4. It finally came back on its own 11 days later. While I had initially hopped it would come back in a day or two, I pretty much gave up hope after a week. Was going to have the dealer look at it when I take it for the ARB6 software update next month (got the letter instructing me to do so, apparently can't be done OTA for my car), but now I don't need to worry about it.

Porsche NA's response (kind of implies that they knew they had fixed it):
Dear Mr. Watson,

If concerns have continued to persist with remote access, please verify network connection in your Taycan. Power on and look in the top right corner of your PCM, verify "LTE" is shown. If "LTE" is not shown and two arrows are pointing in opposite directions, the network has been disconnected and you must visit your Porsche Center Service department for a ConBox High reset.

If "LTE" is shown select Settings -> Accounts -> Delete all current accounts on PCM. Deactivate privacy mode and circle back to Settings -> Accounts -> +Add new account, and continue to sign in with your Porsche ID email and password to grant remote access.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to share them with me.

For any future inquiries, please call us at 1-800-PORSCHE (1-800-767-7243) or email us at [email protected]/. Our offices are open 9am to 9pm ET on Monday through Friday and 9am to 6pm ET on Saturdays.

Thank you for contacting Porsche and we wish you a pleasant day.

Kind regards,
The advice from PCNA you received that 'if LTE is shown in settings, delete all accounts in PCM and re-add them' is strange.
For J1.1 Taycans (20-24) if LTE display is present, it usually means cellular datacomm is operational.
Why would any action be needed?

I don't know what deleting accounts and re-adding them would do to fix a datacomm problem.
If cellular datacomm is not working, deleting accounts from PCM will prevent the accounts from being re-added. The car requires cellular connection to Porsche server to add an account to PCM.

That's why the advice to reset PCM to factory settings (which deletes all accounts except for guest) when the car has no cellular data connection is wrong.

I have a similar issue on my 2025, stopped working Jul 31, tried many logout login things but messing with the 12v, i even have wifi in the garage and youtube works when on wifi but the car telematics for the app doesn't show any updates - opened a ticket with Porsche support and only yesterday they scheduled me at the dealer for Monday.
The car basically says it's out of data capacity... strange, hopefully they will fix it next week.

So far the dealer service tried many things with the Porsche connect team and now they want to replace the communication modules.. very silly, but hopefully it will get solved with the new hardware that is on order:
9J1-907-018-BF CONTROL UNIT F
9J1-035-283-H CTRL UNIT

See this post and its thread

Broken Porsche Connect in other 2025 Taycan was fixed without hardware replacement.
aftet two months without data and two weeks of troubleshooting at the dealer, they finally decided to replace the OTA and Databoxes. After the replacement everything works as normal (J1.2 ST)
