follow up question: are you specifically looking for a “mobile” EV charger to carry with you in the vehicle? or are you looking for a 2nd charger at vacation home or some such?

@Jhenson29 - ?
@daveo4EV - first I need to thank you for all your EV charging posts. I've read through nearly all of them and have a few parts printed out already to give to my electrician.

Long story short, I'm most likely going with a Clipper Creek that you recommended. I wish Clipper Creek chargers had all the fancy bells and whistles like Wi-Fi connection and looked sleeker, but out of all the EV chargers out there that by far seemed to be the most robust and safety tested units. Safety is paramount and Clipper Creek is on the top of the list (at least for me).

Transparently, I just want the longer cord since mine is coming optioned with the 8 ft cord (order by Porsche like that or else I would have checked the 25 ft cord option). Since the cord is so much (where you can buy a brand new Clipper Creek that comes with a 25 ft cord and the charging unit AND still have cash left over), I figured I might be able to take one off someone's hands and get the whole unit and be a win-win for them and me. Then I get a spare that I can mount in a 2nd property for emergencies/convenience.

Mustart EV charger w/25 cord and you’re done.

$359 - 25 ft cord - smaller/lighter than the PMCC and down the road availability of more NEMA plug adapters should you need it - safer than PMCC because it ships with appropriate gauge wire for 40 amp charging load - unlike the barely adequate 10 gauge wire supply cable the PMCC ships with.

ChargePoint is also a good choice, high quality, but has the WiFi and app based controls you might be looking for…

Great suggestions. I'll check out the ChargePoint , looks to be on backorder of course.

Thanks - I hope to pick it up this coming week. Needed new keys from Germany after the software update.
