That red car listing is missing the most important picture of all, the bottom of the car. We know that a >3mm gauge in the bottom plate means $50K-$75K repair not covered under warranty. This would make this used Taycan $90K-$115K purchase.

^ They'll take that picture only after they've first had enough time to give it a quick rinse. (Have you ever seen a sale listing at that price point of such a dirty car?)

It takes but a few minutes to drive a car through a carwash, unless of course the car is not in driving condition, but even then an hour with a bucket and a brush would make a night and day difference. Perhaps the dirt is hiding something, or there is some other surprise awaiting the potential buyer which will make the dirt seem insignificant in comparison.

I was so excited when I read this:

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/10/...e_code=1.Xk4.b79w.WLEjM4wRN-D2&smid=url-share
He was a wealthy cryptocurrency executive with a shiny white Porsche and a luxury condo in the Bahamas.
Ultimately, Mr. Salame pleaded guilty in September 2023 to the campaign finance violation and a separate count of operating an unlicensed money transmitting business. (In the interview, Mr. Salame said the other accusations were “crazy.”) He was forced to forfeit the restaurants, but prosecutors allowed him to keep the Porsche — it wasn’t valuable enough to be worth seizing.

... hoping the Porsche in question would be a Taycan Turbo S.

And indeed it is a Turbo S!

But a 911 instead:

Ryan Salame’s $4 million mansion was hard to miss. “It has the white Porsche in the driveway,” he texted me.
