4S side skirts and front apron

Does it strike anyone as weird that we cannot get the side skirts painted body color as an option? Is it a Porsche thing that I'm not aware of?

Probably they want to make it difficult for us to have the look of the Turbo/TurboS

Sorry I could have sworn the Turbo comes standard with painted sideskirts compared to my 4S. I'll recheck my various source material.

There is no risk at all. If anything it protects the car from external elements such as flying debris and stone chips.
I’ll post photos when it is completed.

It’s just a newer version of paint protection film that is sprayed on rather than laid on.

I was looking to do the same thing with my car. I didn't realize that the side skirts and front splitter were the course black plastic when I ordered my car. The paint protection spray looks amazing. I have seen some other videos where the results are terrific (and reversible). Unfortunately, there are not many shops in the US that currently offer PPS. Most still do the traditional PPF which will not stick to the plastic.

The 4S has the option to have the painted side skirts. (sport skirts) I added them in the US anyway

They are part painted not fully on the Turbo, on the turbo s they are carbon fibre. Its not the entire sideskirt

Even if you get the sports design sills or kit they are not fully painted on any model - the side skirts have a line of paint not fully painted. I think this is because they are so low they will be prone to chipping and hence why I won't paid them but PPS them.

This is the only speculation that I have heard that makes any sense. But they paint lower sills on 911s that are lower, it seems to me.

I think it depends on airflow or something, plus the 21 inch wheels on my car are the widest I have seen on a 4 door saloon/sedan car - they are HUGE.

Mine is a Dolomite Silver 4S - what's peoples opinions on getting the side skirts, front splitter and rear bumper colour coded or in gloss black. Current thoughts is to colour code them all. Just not sure how that will look on the rear bumper in particular.

Yeah won’t get the slats done. Thinking body colour might look best rather than gloss black.

I would love to see what this looks like. Since it is not something we can option (at least not in the US), it would be interesting to see.
